Pivot Energy is seeking a results-driven and dynamic VP, Information Technology Solutions to spearhead and execute our technology strategy and vision. This position will play a key role in shaping and implementing information technology solutions that improve Pivot Energy’s operational efficiency and contribute to the overall growth and success of the business. 

 

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of driving system advancements across multiple operational functions, an ability to establish effective governance structures in a rapidly scaling business context, manage high-performing teams, and maintain alignment between technology initiatives with business goals. A successful candidate will have an adaptable mindset and, a people-centric perspective on information technology systems, and drive Pivot Energy toward iterative growth and improvement of our information technology systems. 

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a strategic vision for the company’s information systems, ensuring alignment with Pivot’s organizational objectives and contributing to operational efficiency.
  • Manage and optimize the company's technology infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability.
  • Create processes and structures to deliver alignment of business objectives with critical software platforms, such as weighted decision matrices, stakeholder engagement forums, and development road mapping. 
  • Create and maintain governance structures to guide decision-making across all cross-functional software tools, supporting alignment between functional areas. 
  • Lead security initiatives across dispersed workspaces, encompassing physical and data security measures to safeguard company assets and sensitive information.
  • Lead and direct a highly responsive and adaptable IT support team, ensuring timely and effective resolution of technical issues to maintain seamless operations across hardware and software, for in-office and remote employees.
  • Take ownership of the implementation of a Managed Service Provider, ensuring services align with business needs and contribute to overall technological efficiency.
  • Keep abreast of new and emerging technologies that align with Pivot’s strategy to expand the contribution of technology to business objectives.
  • Develop and execute strategic decisions at an executive level, including managing the technology budget and making needed investments to align organizational technology with its vision and evolving needs.
  • Collaborate with external partners and vendors to enhance the organization's technological capabilities, ensuring a cutting-edge and innovative technological landscape.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and use best practices in communications and change management to support the adoption and appropriate use of technology. 
  • Monitor and report the departmental progress and performance, resource utilization, and key performance indicators to executive leadership.

Competencies

Required

  • 5 - 10+ years of progressive experience in a senior technology leadership role 
  • 5 - 7+ years of people management experience with a strong ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Proven ability to deploy organization-wide changes, showcasing adaptability, strategic thinking, and effective implementation skills.
  • Highly collaborative with experience in change management and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Prior experience in rapidly growing organization(s) with the ability to thrive in dynamic and evolving business environments. 
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with an ability to engage effectively with all levels of internal and external stakeholders at all organizational levels.

Preferred

  • Experience in the renewable energy or solar industry  
  • Project Management skills used in complex or rapidly scaling business environments.

The base salary range for this position is $185,000-$250,000 depending on relevant experience, along with eligibility for the company’s substantial bonus plan, with a target bonus of 35% of annual salary (prorated in the first year based on start date).
