Associate Product Manager, Australia

The Product Department builds financial products and user experiences that users rave about. We build external products that our end customer - Small Business Owners use to create financial leverage for their business. We also build internal products that our team members in Marketing, Sales and Operations use to provide services to Small Business Owners. Our job starts with identifying user needs, exploring the feasibility of solutions to those needs, and evaluating the business case viability of the preferred solution. We then work with different departments to build and launch the solution. But our job does not end there, because once we launch a product, we need to continuously monitor and improve it. A good product manager is very user centered, analytical and technologically savvy. Our product management philosophy centers around test-and-learn, design thinking and agile. Above all, a good product manager is business savvy, and knows what it takes to win in the market.
The Associate Product Manager, Australia will be a key team member in driving the success of our rapidly growing Australia business. Our Australia business is quickly moving to a multi-product strategy, unified by a next generation application and customer service experience. The Associate Product Manager, Australia will support our new Australia Development team in the Denver office, working across our entire technology stack, and will continually be engaging with other product teams in the Australia, Denver and New York offices to customize our solution for the Australian marketplace.
As the Associate Product Manager at OnDeck on the Australia team, you will:
- Collaborate with our Australia executive leadership and product teams in development of the Australia product roadmap.
- Prepare business cases and project overviews for approval.
- Collect business requirements from Australia to support roadmap initiatives as well as changes to existing business processes.
- Own the product backlog, working with technology and product leadership in Australia and New York to create well-defined requirements.
- Be the voice of the customer for the Australia development team.
- Optimize the full customer journey for the Australia marketplace, from acquisition to onboarding and ongoing customer service.
- Work with internal SMEs to configure existing capabilities and processes.
- Work locally with the Australia Development team sited in Denver to clarify requirements, answer questions, execute on sprint commitments, and provide a consistent release stream that supports the product roadmap.
- Review QA test plans and coordinate UAT with the Australia team.
- Manage a diverse set of stakeholders across operations, client servicing, risk, legal and product management
Necessary qualifications for success:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2+ years of Product management / Business Analysis experience
- 2+ years in Agile development / JIRA
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate with senior management
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
- Self-starter attitude and intellectual curiosity
- User-centric mindset and drive to deliver the best possible solutions for your customers.
Nice-to-haves (not required):
- Prior experience working with a global, distributed team
- Financial services / credit lending experience
- Background delivering customer-facing, online experiences
