Product Specialist III
This Produce Specialist position is a complex role within the purchasing organization of Global Supply Chain, Manufacturing Services that requires a number of skills, qualifications and attributes. The role is responsible for buying commodities on a global basis and helps to co-ordinates the overall procurement strategy. The position must also be able to minimize risk by developing risk mitigation strategies through an appropriate supplier network while maintaining continuity of supply and reduce risk within the supply chain as a whole.
This person recommends cost saving proposals, including alternative sourcing. Works with management to address all aspects of commodity management, including procurement support, commodity business plans, market trends assessment, pricing, and product availability. This position requires expertise in a wide variety of assigned commodities common in computer system integrations.
This position primarily focuses on the following:
- Responsible for the development and implementation of strategic s commodity strategies for key suppliers and services used in the Global Supply Chain Services manufacture of Value Added Products
- Management of large spend electronics components portfolios sourced on a Global scale
- Management of large spend electronics components portfolios sourced on a Global scale
- Active participation in new product development assuring that proper commodity and supplier decisions are made when sourcing for new product development
- Successfully develop and manage the supply base to drive lowest total cost of ownership
- Responsible for key deliverables, supplier selection/negotiations, cost/inventory management, new product material readiness, and life cycle management.
- Work closely with entire commodity management team to meet goals and objectives as defined by the Corporate Executive team to meet gross margin targets.
- Establish and maintain strategic supplier relationships, lead negotiations of agreements with key suppliers, establish consistency of key supplier’s metrics through active engagements in capital acquisition and planning process.
- Develop and manage quarterly business reviews (QBR’s) for their specific commodities
- Drive Arrow Global Supply Chain Services and supplier cross function activities to reduce costs and maximize quality
- Drive social responsibility requirements (supplier’s assessment/audits) to the supply base
- Set up and facilitate meetings between Arrow Global Supply Chain Services and the suppliers
- Manage all up/down flex opportunities with suppliers
- Work with suppliers and Value-Added Manufacturing on terms and inventory levels to minimize piece price variances (PPV)
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree and/or 5+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in sourcing, procurement and/or contract negotiations.
- 5+ years of experience supporting electronics manufacturing operations with global commodities sourcing
- 3+ years of experience with Computer and PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) components sourcing
- 3+ years of experience implementing contracts and negotiating costs with suppliers
- 3+ years of experience implementing and reporting supplier performance measurements
- 1+ years of experience managing commodities sourcing professionals
- Proficient utilization of web-based procurement tools and online bidding activity to ensure performance objectives are realized
- Strong background supporting a Value Added or EMS Manufacturing Environment, with a working knowledge of a ERP System.

- Ability to read and interpret documents such as existing client contracts, purchase requisitions and requests for quotes from suppliers.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
