Hi, we're The Browser Company 👋 and we're building a better way to use the internet.
Browsers are unique in that they are one of the only pieces of software that you share with your parents as well as your kids. Which makes sense, they're our doorway to the most important things — through them we socialize with loved ones, work on our passion projects, and explore our curiosities. But on their own, they don’t actually do a whole lot, they’re kind of just there. They don’t help us organize our messy lives or make it easier to compose our ideas. We believe that the browser could do so much more — it can empower and support the amazing things we do on the internet. That’s why we’re building one: a browser that can help us grow, create, and stay curious.
To accomplish this lofty task, we’re building a diverse team of people from different backgrounds and experiences. This isn’t optional, it’s crucial to our mission, as we need a wide range of perspectives to challenge our assumptions and shape our browser through a bold, creative lens. With that in mind, we especially encourage women, people of color, and others from historically marginalized groups to apply.

About The Role

As a Product Designer at The Browser Company, you'll take complex problems and design elegant solutions to redefine the future of browsing in Dia. We’re a cross-functional team that values real-time collaboration and rapid prototyping - much of your day-to-day will be transforming big ideals into simple, elegant solutions.

Browsers are our doorway to everything online, where we work, learn, and connect with people we love. On their own, they don’t help us organize the chaos, bring focus to our projects, or unlock new creative possibilities. We believe a browser can do so much more: it can empower us to grow, create, and stay curious. That’s why we’re building Dia, a browser that helps people do their best work and feel more at home on the internet.

Overall you will...
  • Lead end-to-end design for Dia by crafting flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals that define how AI-first software should behave.

  • Explore novel concepts through prototyping and explorative design work. You’ll share your work early and often, articulating your objectives and ideas with clarity.

  • Partner with Engineers and Design Engineers to bring designs from concept to completion. You’ll also partner with Product and Insights, and all other teams team to help inform product decisions and their impact.

  • Shape Dia’s cross-platform design strategy, starting with macOS and expanding to Windows and mobile, to create cohesive, intuitive experiences across every surface.

  • Contribute to team-wide design conversations—help refine our strategy, critique practices, daily design drops, and shared norms to continually raise the bar for quality and craft.

Qualifications
  • 8+ years designing, rapid prototyping, and shipping high- craft software iOS or desktop products from 0→1

  • Strong visual craft and systems thinking. You care deeply about clarity, cohesion, and the details that make experiences feel effortless.

  • Experience working in rigorous design environments with tools like Figma, Linear, and Notion, and excitement to prototype with LLMs and shape new AI-powered experiences.

  • Sharp eye for clarity and craft, with a bias for fast, creative experimentation and learning through iteration.

  • Clear communicator and structured thinker who can articulate the “why” behind your design decisions, grounds choices in user insights, embraces open dialogue, and help teams align around shared goals.

  • Our team is based in North American time zones and require that folks have 4+ hours of overlap time with team members in Eastern Time Zone.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Our total compensation package for full-time employees includes base salary, equity, and benefits. The annual salary range for this role is $225,000-$310,000 USD. The actual salary offered will vary based on experience level and interview performance.

  • Benefits: We also offer a wide range of perks and benefits designed to support you, your family and to help you engage with your local community. To learn more, visit go.atlassian.com/perksandbenefits.

  • Location: We’re a remote-friendly company and can hire in any country where Atlassian has a legal entity. If you live in New York (or want to visit), you’re welcome to work from our beautiful office in Williamsburg.

The Browser Company is an ambitious team of close to 100 people (and growing!) who are passionate about building great products. We are a remote-first, distributed team, with the option to work from office in Brooklyn, New York. We strongly support diversity and encourage people from all backgrounds to apply.
