About the Role
As a Principal Product Manager on the Confluence Flywheel team, you will set the vision and strategy for growth initiatives that drive adoption, engagement, and retention. You'll lead cross-functional teams to deliver measurable outcomes, using experimentation and deep customer understanding to unlock new growth levers. You will be instrumental in shaping the product roadmap, influencing organizational direction, and ensuring Confluence delivers value to millions of users worldwide.

At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: $193,500 - $252,625
Zone B: $174,600 - $227,950
Zone C: $161,100 - $210,325
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.

About the Role
As a Principal Product Manager on the Confluence Flywheel team, you will set the vision and strategy for growth initiatives that drive adoption, engagement, and retention. You'll lead cross-functional teams to deliver measurable outcomes, using experimentation and deep customer understanding to unlock new growth levers. You will be instrumental in shaping the product roadmap, influencing organizational direction, and ensuring Confluence delivers value to millions of users worldwide.
You will:
- Deeply understand our customers and their needs, and develop a strong point of view on how to effectively drive engagement
- Drive vision and strategy for Confluence Flywheel, aligning team OKRs and initiatives with Atlassian's company priorities.
- Lead high-impact growth projects that move our highest business metrics, including Confluence MAU.
- Define and track key business and usage analytics to measure success, including advanced engagement metrics that go beyond traditional activation and retention.
- Drive experimentation and rapid iteration on new features and core experience to accelerate user adoption and expansion.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, marketing, and partner product teams to deliver cohesive experiences and go-to-market strategies.
- Mentor and coach other product managers, acting as a player/coach and thought leader within the organization.
- Champion a customer-centric, data-driven approach to product development, balancing speed, quality, and business impact.
On your first day, we'll expect you to:
- Have 7+ years of product management experience, with a strong track record of driving growth and adoption in SaaS or high-growth software environments.
- Have deep expertise in growth methodologies, experimentation, and data analysis.
- Have exceptional communication and storytelling skills; able to present confidently to large audiences and executive stakeholders.
- Be able to move fluidly from talking about the big picture all the way down to implementation details
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners and build a high-performing team
- Balance big picture evolution with quick wins, driving toward learning and impact at every step of the way
