TITLE: Principal Engineer
LOCATION: Greenwood Village, CO
JOB SUMMARY: Support a large-scale hybrid infrastructure comprised of the cloud, local and shared platform services and hardware. Implement projects of all sizes through design consultation, leading technical planning sessions, architecture design, implementing technical solutions, and establishing best practices, documentation, root cause analysis and stakeholder management. Specify, design, and implement system health, performance monitoring tools, and software management tools for 24/7 environments. Troubleshoot problems related to Spectrum Guide. Drive root-cause analysis and establish continuous improvement practices around results. Create automation for operationalizing business practices utilizing Puppet, Ansible, Chef, and Workato. Identify, monitor, and analyze performance metrics relevant to the customer experience and identify opportunities for improvement. Oversee end-to-end completion of Jira task requests that range in size and complexity. Establish a framework for documentation efforts. Deploy automation and test/validation workflows. Troubleshoot and configure DAC or EC controller devices and functions, and STB interoperability. Design databases and architecture and perform audits using MySQL and NoSQL. Quantify expected improvement for interventions, and work with relevant teams to implement metrics. Stage data that will be used by sister teams during deployments. Perform system administration in Linux and Unix. Work with network protocols in video architecture, including OSI, TCP/IP, SNMP, and ARP. Design architecture for Linear, VOD, SDV, and IP video delivery mechanisms according to industry specifications and standards, including DOCSIS, 802.11, and HFC Plant. Perform scripting in Python and Bash. Perform cloud computing in AWS.
EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering (any), or a related field. 5 years of experience performing system administration in Linux and Unix; developing automation processes utilizing Ansible, Workato, Puppet, or Chef; working with network protocols in video architecture, including OSI, TCP/IP, SNMP, and ARP; designing architecture for Linear, VOD, SDV, and IP video delivery mechanisms according to industry specifications and standards, including DOCSIS, 802.11, and HFC Plant; performing scripting in Python and Bash; and performing cloud computing in AWS.
*A hybrid (in office and remote) work arrangement is available.
Salaries depend on geography, experience, and education; negotiations begin at $139,838 per year.

The base pay for this position generally is between
$139,838.00 and $196,400.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
