About the Role
We are looking for a VP of DOT Compliance to help us bring AI to supply chains in the world’s largest companies. You’ll foster relationships with drivers and small trucking businesses to ensure unparalleled safety measures within the trucking industry. By working closely with our Fleet Managers, you’ll set a new safety standard and exceptional experience for drivers.
Responsibilities:
- Create the vision and strategy around safety compliance for the company
- Lead and mentor the DOT division to ensure safety of drivers
- Ensure state and national compliance with DOT regulations
- Ensure driver compliance with routes and regional requirements
- Incident investigation
- Direct driver training programs
- Tracking KPI for DOT Statistics
- Equipment Inspections
- Managing/Coordinating ELD accuracy
Requirements
- Experience creating and implementing a DOT department
- At least 5+ years of leading and mentoring DOT professionals
- 5+ years’ experience performing USDOT/FMCSA driver/vehicle roadside inspections and have been certified by USDOT/FMCSA.
- Prior experience with enforcement of the hazardous materials regulations and in depth knowledge of the regulations.
- Must be a subject matter expert in all matters related to USDOT roadside inspections and the CVSA Out of Service Criteria.
- Experience conducting USDOT/FMCSA on site full audits, off site/focused audits/corrective action letters and safety rating upgrades
- Expertise with drug & alcohol policies and procedures.
- Accident investigation and crash reconstruction certification.
- Experience in writing policy and procedures for compliance with USDOT/FMCSA regulations.
- Prior experience and certification in weight and measurements of vehicles.
- Must have had experience in method of instruction for presenting training.
- Prior oil and gas, fleet truck compliance
- 50% travel into the field - company or leased vehicle provided
- Fluency in speaking and writing in Spanish, preferred but not required
