Support Agents deliver effective technical customer support to our rapidly growing customer base, delivering solutions to both technical and non-technical end users while also supporting a wide range of technologies.

The most important criteria for joining our support team are curiosity, critical thinking, and willingness to learn. If you've got experience with billing or payments, that's the icing on the cake. We are also very interested in individuals who have a track record of finding creative solutions to unique problems, and who will thrive in challenging situations. The Support Agent is responsible for providing high-quality technical support for Recurly customers. This role will also work on other programming and documentation projects as required.

We are looking to hire remote in the following states: California, Colorado, Illinois, North Carolina, New Jersey, Oregon, South Carolina, or Washington.

Responsibilities:

  • Helping merchants determine their best integration path (hosted payment pages, Recurly.js, API)
  • Reproducing and reporting bugs to our development team
  • Critically thinking through which technologies to apply to certain situations
  • Customer integration troubleshooting and assistance
  • Confirmation of bugs, communication to development team
  • Working with development team to resolve complex merchant issues
  • Merchant communication regarding new product rollouts
  • Documentation of new and existing features

Requirements:

  • Familiarity with basic API functions (GET, POST, etc.)
  • Ability to read basic code (PHP, Ruby, Python, and JavaScript (.NET and Java a plus)
  • Experience with web site development, HTML, and SQL a plus, not required
  • Excellent written communication skills, both in tone and technical descriptions
  • Clear telephone communication and ability to quickly problem solve
