WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Participate in design and implementation of Engineering DevOps and SaaS infrastructure, including a move from private cloud to AWS public cloud
  • Support the infrastructure stack (OS, storage, network, database, web, and virtualization) and maintain high availability of the SaaS infrastructure
  • Ensure company standard server technologies, proper performance and capacity standards are implemented
  • Monitor production systems to ensure stable, responsive, and compliant networks, applications, jobs and services
  • Lead problem resolution and coordination activities
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for support of systems outside of normal business hours
  • Be instrumental in progress toward continuous delivery code pipeline for software products
  • Identify and automate repetitive or inefficient tasks (spinning up new environments, build and deployments, etc.)
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing by creating and maintaining documentation and diagrams
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve the engineering infrastructure
  • Strong team player with a high degree of self-motivation and the ability to manage additional technical resources to meet project requirements

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in technical discipline; OR equivalent experience
  • Have built and supported enterprise SaaS infrastructure environments within a complex engineering computing environment
  • 5+ years of experience with:
    • CI scripting: Bash | Groovy | Gradle | Python | PowerShell
    • Message based systems such as RabbitMQ or Kafka
    • Internet technologies: DNS | SNMP | HTTP | TCP/IP | CDNs
    • Core network components and technologies: VPNs | firewalls | Load Balancers | etc.
    • Virtualization tools and technologies: VMWare | Azure | AWS | etc.
    • Linux (CentOS | Redhat | Ubuntu) and Windows servers
    • Monitoring systems: LogicMonitor | Rapid7 | Alert Logic | ElasticSearch
    • Infrastructure as code build/deploy tooling: AWS | Chef | Ansible | Terraform
    • Cloud serverless technologies such as: serveless.com, lambda etc.
    • Scripting: Python | Bash | Powershell
    • Supporting software automation tests and frameworks: Selenium | Junit | JMeter | Spock
  • Effective interpersonal skills (written and oral) and the ability to communicate effectively across the organization
  • Ability to prioritize and work well under pressure and aspiration

BONUS POINTS:

  • Experience working with Kanban/Agile work environment
  • Experience designing and developing continuous delivery code pipeline(s) (Jenkins | Docker | Kubernetes etc.)
  • Experience working tickets and managing priorities within issue tracking systems (Salesforce, Jira, etc.)
  • Experience with middleware configuration and optimization (Apache and Tomcat)
  • Experience supporting Spring, and Spring Boot Java applications
  • Experience with server-side web technologies (Cold Fusion, PHP, Ruby On Rails etc…)
