The Operations Strategic Support Unit plays a fundamental role in enabling efficient business and program execution – from technologies and investments to supply chain, manufacturing and test operations, facilities management, and information technology services.
Technician III – Production
Perform standard manufacturing and assembly tasks of intermediate complexity in a repetitive-build aerospace manufacturing environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Role tasks may include cleaning, parts/materials preparation, mechanical /electrical assembly, polymerics processing, manual soldering, composite layup and masking operations.
- While executing manufacturing operations apply an intermediate level of knowledge and skills in hardware assembly, troubleshooting and repair.
- Apply intermediate competency in use of hand tools, assembly tooling and general manufacturing equipment.
- Must complete certification training and maintain required certifications as required.
- Apply solid computer skills to access & input data via computer interface or automated equipment.
- Utilize reading and comprehension skills to follow documented build instructions
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department and interact appropriately with others to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
What You’ll Need:
- High School diploma or equivalent plus 6 years or more experience or a 2-year technical degree and 4 or more years.
- Each higher-level related degree, i.e., Bachelor’s or Master’s, may substitute for two years of related experience. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- Must be a self-starter, ambitious and a conscientious individual.
- A mechanical aptitude, with good dexterity and hand/eye coordination.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Exposure to manual soldering is preferred but not required.
- Experience or familiarity with any of the following areas is preferred; equipment installation, troubleshooting and maintenance, composite layups, harness fabrication, mechanical and/or electronic assembly.
- Work is performed in a manufacturing floor or machine shop environment.
- Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.
A current DoD clearance and/or SCI access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position, however applicant must be willing and eligible for submission within 60-90 days after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access. Compensation & Benefits:
- HIRING SALARY RANGE: $23.56 - $31.73 per hour (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
