Job Description

Daxko’s Technical Support Engineer is a role for the rare hybrid mind that wants to engage in troubleshooting engineering challenges and can also break down that complexity for non-technical stakeholders. The primary job function is to identify production issues and provide root cause analysis for incidents escalated from support, internal/external customers, and monitoring systems. It is especially helpful to have a deep love for automation, a problem-solver’s mindset, and a strong desire to grow as a software professional. You’ll respond to tickets, alerts, pings, pages, queries, and problems that you can investigate and resolve; sometimes as a lone wolf or sometimes by collaborating with the team.

What you'll be responsible for...

  • Support all Daxko software offerings and integrated third party tools
  • Work the daily inbound cases from Customer Service; determine root cause and either resolve, or escalate to other team members or teams as required.
  • Be a communication champion between Data Services and other core Daxko teams (Customer Service, services, development, etc) to ensure system wide incidents or issues are known and case resources are coordinated
  • Participate in an on-call rotation
  • Ensure speedy response time on cases and enlist help of other team members as needed

Qualifications

  • 1+ years’ experience troubleshooting Microsoft SQL or PostgreSQL queries, stored procs, etc.
  • 1+ years’ experience troubleshooting C#, java, or similar source code
  • Bachelor’s degree - technical discipline preferred; OR equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of or experience with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.)
  • Effective interpersonal skills (written and oral) and the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of staff levels
  • Ability to prioritize and work well under pressure

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Open Source Monitoring Technologies (Logstash, Sensu, Graphite, Geckoboard, etc.)
  • Scripting experience with the following languages: Ruby, Bash, Powershell
  • Experience working tickets and managing priorities within issue tracking systems (Salesforce, Jira, etc.)
  • Experience with modern web technologies (HTML5, CSS3, AJAX, JQuery, etc)
  • Experience developing or supporting C# or Java applications
  • Experience working with virtualization and cloud infrastructure
  • Experience with Git or similar version control
  • Experience with ColdFusion
