Team Manager of Onboarding
Summary
The Team Manager of Onboarding manages and directs the work of project managers and provides managerial oversight for multiple projects. Monitors project scope, costs, schedules, staffing, communications, partners, and contractual deliverables. Leads the execution of directives, typically related to the immediate organization; nurtures culture of the immediate organization. Decisions and recommendations have an impact to the immediate organization. Manages group or project/program. Provides input to the leadership chain in the immediate organization. Focuses on how to drive project management, improve communication to immediate organization,
Responsibilities
- Manages a team and provides instruction to the team(s) being led, and to whom others in the immediate organization view as a leader.
- Ensure PMO has the necessary tools at their disposal for effective and timely support of customers, including but not limited to project templates and reference materials, appropriate training and staff development, best practice documentation and department policies and procedures.
- Apply project management best practices to development of internal policies and procedures, templates, and material development.
- Maintain a library of materials for the PMO to utilize and provide education for the department on new project types, technologies, or initiatives as they arise.
- Develop positive relationships with customers, act as point of escalation for customer issues with PMO staff, act as liaison for new customers and assist with transition to PMO staff assignments.
- Develop positive relationships with other departmental leaders, communication necessary updates between from other departments to PMO staff and collaborate on shared projects and initiatives to meet the goals of the organization by collaborating to define, prioritize, and resource projects
- Provide oversight to resource scheduling across the organization to ensure processes are being followed and to resolve scheduling conflicts as they arise with other internal departments.
- Develop positive relationships with key partners and stay current on new technologies, products, and initiatives from those vendors. Coordinate with those partners to provide documentation and training to the PMO as appropriate.
- Participate in regular manager meetings, both at a corporate and departmental level to act as a representative of the PMO, and bring strategic insight and customer and staff input to the discussions.
- Addresses internal and external issues that may impede project delivery and develops solutions.
- Tracks and monitors risk metrics and facilitates actions to keep projects on track.
- Establishes data collection and reporting processes to capture key metrics of project activities and to provide periodic reporting
- Planning project management, including setting deadlines, prioritizing tasks, and assigning team members to various deliverables.
- Providing financial reports and budget outlines to leadership and analyzing financial data, including project budgets, risks, and resource allocation
- Overseeing the execution of projects and ensuring that team members are carrying out their tasks efficiently while upholding the company's standards.
- Interacts with other areas of the company with primary focus being on the impact to the immediate organization.
- May present within the immediate organization.

Education
- Undergraduate Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.
Skills

- Exceptional customer-facing communication and interpersonal skills: able to understand and articulate the needs of the customer and deliver on those needs
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to formulate solutions and make decisions that deliver real business value

- Excellent organizational and technical skills
- Well organized with the ability to manage a team as well as customer and internal relationships simultaneously
Experience
- 5+ years of project manager experience required or related experience
- Demonstrated ability and potential to lead a team.
- Project management experience strongly preferred
- PMP certification a plus
- Working knowledge of Workiva’s products, including knowledge of SOX, Investments, and Risk preferred
Travel Requirement
- Up to 25% travel
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
- Position requires up to 25% travel to meet with team members, customers, and internal teams, as well as last minute travel requests
- Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely, not in a Workiva office.
How You’ll Be Rewarded
Base Pay Range in Colorado: $96,000.00 - $138,000.00
Restricted Stock Units granted at time of hire
Monthly phone stipend
The base pay range represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this job. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, and capabilities.
