Systems Engineer

As a Systems Engineer on our Integrated Product Solutions team you will have an opportunity to automate the provisioning of infrastructure, including off-the-shelf hardware appliances, high-availability solutions, disaster recovery solutions, and cloud environments. You will work in an agile organization which uses SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework). A background in system and network administration combined with the ability to treat infrastructure as code is highly desired for this position. You will have a proven track record for leveraging your knowledge and experience to bring new products and services to market and take operational responsibility for services, processes, and delivery methodologies which drive business value.

Job Responsibilities

  • Make technical design decisions, solve complex integration problems, and make improvements to Windows and Linux systems
  • Gather requirements, create designs, and implement (prototype)
  • Build and deliver the technology, automation and processes to manufacture and maintain production-grade solutions
  • Collaborate with other members of the Research and Development teams to plan and coordinate the implementation of complex system and software implementations

Job Skills & Qualifications

Required

  • Proven ability to design and implement secure, reliable and scalable systems
  • PowerShell, Bash, Python or equivalent scripting experience
  • Proficiency with both Windows and Linux
  • Experience with one or more hypervisors (VMWare, Hyper-V, Xen, KVM, etc.)
  • Experience with one or more commercial cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.)
  • Familiarity with agile software development methodology and tooling
  • A strong desire to automate processes, build software tools, and create infrastructure-as-code solutions in a DevOps environment
  • Outstanding communication, organization, and documentation skills
  • Proven project delivery skills

Desired

  • Design and deployment experience with security and networking technologies
  • Experience with SQL technologies and non-SQL persistent data storage
  • Experience with Salt, Ansible, Chef or Puppet
  • Experience with software build technologies such as Jenkins, Octopus Deploy, or others
  • Experience with working in a CI/CD environment
