NHT is seeking a Support Software Engineer who wants to solve interesting, meaningful problems with an intelligent, hard-working team! This position will require creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills to assist with the end-to-end execution of our platform, help build custom healthcare related metrics, and incorporate them into proprietary machine learning models and training data.
Strong candidates will have 2 years of expertise with Python and SQL at a minimum with an interest in learning new technologies and methodologies, and at least one year of working in a support-oriented team.
Responsibilities
- Supporting and maintaining programs (some statistical) in Python
- Building custom healthcare related metrics from large datasets using Python and SQL
- Integrating custom healthcare related metrics into our platform and machine learning models
- Designing a framework to automate/reduce manual work related to custom healthcare metrics Expanding our testing suite, testing tools, and testing infrastructure
- Refactoring algorithmic code for improved performance, maintainability, and testability
- Coordinating and communicating with our Client Services team to prioritize client deliverables
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of industry experience as a software engineer
- 1+ year of support experience
- Fluency in Python with prior experience writing production code
- Intermediate SQL knowledge, especially Postgres, from both an end-user and admin perspective
- Expert at manipulating large datasets in an efficient manner
- Strong debugging skills and the ability to think algorithmically
- Experience with testing fundamentals: unit tests, integrations tests, etc.
- Comfortable behind a Unix terminal
- Working knowledge of concepts from data science and statistics
- Ability to multitask and balance competing priorities
Desired Qualifications

- Healthcare metrics and data
- Computer Science or related degree
- Apache Airflow and workflow orchestration
- Apache Spark and ETL pipelines
- Familiarity with pySpark and Spark Dataframes
- Flask and RESTful APIs
- Data science and machine learning libraries
- Cloud computing (we use Microsoft Azure)
- NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cosmos etc.)
- Jira/Confluence
Other Details:
- This role is a full-time, exempt position
- Starting salary range is $63,000 - $81,000
- This role will be eligible to participate in the following:

- variable performance-based bonus incentives with annual potential up to 10%
