Strategic Engagement Advisor

Summary

The Strategic Engagement Advisor is part Marketer, part Consultant, and part Technologist. As a member of Marketo's Strategic Engagement Services team, the Advisor will bring real-world marketing transformation experience and marketer-to-marketer trust to the pre-sales process as well as deliver billable Strategic Services that complement the implementation work performed by Marketo’s Professional Services team.

 

The Strategic Engagement Advisor will provide pre-sales and post-sales continuity, establishing a trusted, consultative relationship with customer executives to last throughout their journey with Marketo. The Advisor will help define a roadmap for our customers and guide them through transformation of their marketing and their organization with the support of Marketo’s products and services.  

  

Duties

  • Support Account Executives in the pre-sales process by providing a cross-industry perspective and stories of successful transformation
  • Support Engagement Managers in scoping effective services engagements
  • Facilitate an exceptional level of understanding of our customers’ customers through persona work 
  • Help our customers create a new vision of cross-channel engagement with Marketo's engagement platform  
  • Define strategies beyond demand generation — for acquisition, onboarding, cross-sell, up-sell, retention and advocacy
  • Build content strategies for the production and delivery of 1:1 personalization at scale
  • Help customers design an organizational structure and governance to advance of the Engagement Marketing Maturity curve
  • Help customers drive greater alignment between Marketing and Sales 
  • Define roadmaps to guide the customer’s transformation of their marketing and organization to drive the greatest value from their Marketo investment

 

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree; MBA preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • 7-10 years’ experience in Customer Engagement, Marketing or Consulting fields
  • Executive presence, relationship building, strong decision-making skills
  • Experience facilitating groups toward a stated objective
  • Deep experience working within Enterprise Marketing Organizations
  • Deep experience in Sales and Marketing strategy
  • Demonstrated competency with implementing business processes 
  • 50% travel expectation
  • Established business acumen
  • Resiliency in the face of competing demands and conflicts
  • Demonstrated success in a high pressure, dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to drive change in a matrixed environment
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working within technology organizations preferred
