RingCentral's Infrastructure Operations team is responsible for monitoring, maintaining and upgrading the backend infrastructure on which we deliver our cloud-based unified communications services to customers all over the world. RingCentral Cloud Operations is engineered for 99.999% uptime with domestic and international geo-redundant data centers. As a RingCentral Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, maintaining and supporting the x86 virtualization environment including the underlying servers and storage systems at RingCentral.

Summary:
RingCentral is looking for a strong hands-on Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Deployment Engineer. Your responsibilities will include server environment deployment and support, as well as 'break-fix' as needed. A key part of this role will be to manage your assigned projects but also be available to assist with end user issues, both onsite and remotely. You will work closely with the entire OPS, QA and Dev Departments to provide the exceptional customer service to the RingCentral. As this is an important role, candidates will need to be able to lead and deliver on multiple projects, and provide escalation support to fellow technicians. You will need to have the skills and ability to see problems through to a suitable outcome and continually communicate progress and options to the departments' management.
Special Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Minimum 5 years relevant IT experience fully supporting and building cloud type IT environments.
- Demonstrated senior expertise in Windows Server, Exchange, BES, Active Directory, Linux, Security, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, etc.
- Hands on experience with implementing, maintaining and troubleshooting end-to-end server and network solutions for the enterprise.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft and Linux server products and virtualization technologies, Hyper-V, VMWare, Docker and OpenStack.
- Must be able to continually evaluate, consult, research and offer advice on large technical solutions to both technical and non-technical internal clients.
- Must be a continual lifelong self-learner.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience in a senior DevOps role.
- At list 4 year experience at position of system administration
- OS: Linux/Unix. Administrator level
- OS: MS Windows Server. Active Directory. Administrator level
- DevOPS: experience in writing scripts: Perl, Visual Basic, cmd, shell
- Administration of web-servers: IIS, Apache, JBOSS
- Remote administration of servers, network devices
- Understanding of network protocols, VPN, SIP, UTP
- Experience in global team work
- Experience in 247support of systems
