Systems Administrator
We are seeking a talented, energetic and self-driven individual to join our Systems Administration team responsible for Windows Servers. Our administrators are responsible for system planning, implementation, administration, performance monitoring, software deployments and capacity planning of Windows-based systems used by Vertafore to deliver our products and services to the insurance industry in a SaaS environment. Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for designing and implementing scripts in Chef (DevOps function)
- Management and migrations of existing PowerShell scripts
- Windows Sever and Active Directory maintenance including Local and Group Policy, Security hardening and Remediation
- Manage Active Directory Domain Controllers
- Create and modify Active Directory and Local Group Policy
- Install, manage and troubleshoot Microsoft systems
- Perform advanced defect root cause analysis and provide resolution plans
- Provide after-hours support for Infrastructure related emergencies as well occasional weekend maintenance
- Help Service Desk team with advanced tickets
- Continually improve DevOps tools, processes, and procedures
Preferred Experience & Qualifications:
- Ability to support services in multiple data centers with integrations involving multiple products
- At least 3-6 years of experience in enterprise DevOps, configuration management, software development, and agile processes
- Minimum of 2 years- experience with scripting in Chef
- At least 3-6 years of Active Directory related work experience
- Strong knowledge of VMWare technologies
- Strong understanding of network fundamentals
- 3-6 years managing configuration, build and deployments for enterprise software solutions (upgrade and administration)
- 2-3 years of PowerShell scripting experience
- Managing Windows Server infrastructure
- 1-2 years of automating cloud (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) platform configuration
- Strong understanding of networking and security concepts
- Microsoft Certifications
- Positive, self-motivated personality, with the ability to complete tasks independently
- Strong communication & documentation skills
