Senior Manager, Events Marketing
As part of the GHX Corporate Marketing team, the Sr. Manager, Events is responsible for driving the success of our North America tradeshow and corporate event programs. This role requires strong personal initiative, accountability, a drive to seek new ideas, and the ability to approach every GHX event with a strategic lens. The ideal candidate actively seeks to build a best-in-class events practice and demonstrate high personal levels of judgment, drive and influence. The role requires the candidate to work effectively within matrixed teams and be a natural problem solver with strong written and polished verbal communication skills. Key Responsibilities
- Own and lead the successful execution of GHX Summit, the company’s annual flagship user conference, with a focus on driving customer engagement, pipeline and revenue.
- Provide overall direction and project management of the GHX Summit (annual 3-day, 800+ attendee customer event) including agenda, budget preparation, site selection, vendor management, evening events, activities, sessions and overall run of show.
- Successfully lead the planning and management for events across North America, developing overall event planning, budgeting and strategy for in-person and virtual tradeshows, sponsorships and internal events and meetings.
- Inspire the team and collaborate with internal and external partners to create meaningful and memorable experiences throughout the lifecycle of an event.
- Serve as the organization’s resident expert and make recommendations on the many tradeshows and events in our industry including their format, audience makeup and potential value to driving GHX customer engagement and growth strategies.
- Manage third-party events and production partners to execute annual sales incentive event (President’s Club).
- Partner with Revenue Enablement and to plan and execute the annual and mid-year national sales conferences.
- Create on-site and pre-planning documents including event specifications and run-of-show, goals and reporting on event results with recommended actions and post-meeting reporting.
- Collaborate with Corporate and Product Marketing, Sales, Product and Finance to ensure strategies and plans are integrated and aligned.
- Lead and manage event collaboration teams which may include direct reports, cross-functional squads and vendor/partners.
- Establish metrics and measurement strategies to track ROI and validate the success of event programs. Develop and report on KPIs related to events activities on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
- Stay current on evolving trends and best practices in tradeshow and event planning and make recommendations on how GHX can innovate and improve the quality of our presence at tradeshows and events.
- Establish repeatable processes, templates and standards.
- Effectively communicate and present plans and performance across the organization including key stakeholders and executives.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree Marketing, Communications, Event Management or related field.
- 15+ years' experience in corporate event experience including leading and managing large customer/user conferences, tradeshow exhibits, internal events and virtual events/conferences.
- Passion for customer experience and an understanding of the shifting landscape of their expectations
- Excellent executive-level written, spoken, and leadership communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical information in non- technical terms
- Ability to prioritize, schedule and organize work – perform under tight deadlines and prioritize competing projects and tasks
- Ability to balance strategic initiatives and hands-on implementation of customer communication and engagement programs.
- Strong analytical skills, and consistent track record in making data-driven decisions to continually optimize performance and determine future investments.
- Strong budget management and organization skills are required with ability to multi-task and have excellent time management skills with ability to manage multiple overlapping deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
- Forward-thinking, detail oriented and proactive with proven project management skills.
- Highly collaborative team player, adaptable and resilient with ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment while working closely with multiple departments.
- Solid understanding of platforms and best practices surrounding in person and virtual event management, event promotion, social engagement and mobile engagement.
- Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) or related certification in meeting/event planning is preferred.
- Proficient using MS Office Applications, Slack and other enterprise applications
- Healthcare experience desired
- Experience with event platforms (Swoogo and On24) a plus
- Experience with Asana or similar project management platforms a plus
- Knowledge of agile marketing principles a plus
The compensation range for the Sr. Manager, Tradeshows and Events range is: $110,000-$126,000
