Sr. Business Process Manager - Supply Chain Operations

As we continue to scale, we must enhance our cross-functional speed of risk assessment, decision making and execution. We are searching for a leader that can enable this by collaborating cross-functionally, across business lines and geographies to define and document critical business processes with clear roles and responsibilities and decision points. This individual contributor will develop charters, secure executive sponsorship, and lead cross-functional teams to document ways of working, roles and responsibilities, and clear escalation and decision points.

The Business Process Manager will work within the Transformation and PMO leader  to scope, plan and implement business process improvement projects focused on ensuring compliance, while also improving effectiveness and efficiency, in support of supply chain operations business goals. The Business Process Manager will ensure policies and procedures are maintained and updated as needed, provide project management expertise to all departments with operations

What you’ll do: 

  • Evaluates, designs, executes, measures, monitors and controls business processes from start to finish 
  • Leverages process renovation and innovation to drive revenue, operating margin, improve speed of decision-making and reduce enterprise risks
  • Conduct voice of the customer interview sessions to derive insights into strengths and opportunities within prioritized workflows
  • Lead the creation, testing, and sustaining of Invitae’s Business Continuity Plans in coordination with InfoSec’s Disaster Recovery Plans
  • Lead cross-functional team sessions to develop process maps, swim lanes, RACI charts, etc. to support new product introductions, new market entries, strategic supplier management, product value streams, and other critical-to-scaling workflows
  • Develops global standard operating procedures and process decision charts and process health metrics to enable reliable, repeatable outcomes e.g BOM workflows, FMEA analysis, voice of customer templates and value stream mapping
  • Make quick decisions and also establish rules towards proper business management
  • Establishes and maintains constructive working relationships and keeps stakeholders informed of progress or status, addressing the underlying needs of the stakeholders
  • Assist to ensure lab reliability protocols are in place and develop escalation procedures

What you bring: 

  • 10+ years experience in business process development and technical writing  
  • Ability to travel up to one week per quarter in the continental USA
  • Bachelor Degree in Management, Business Administration, Operations or related discipline with 10+ years of experience in regulated industry such as clinical laboratory, medical device, or manufacturing.
  • 5+ years of systems implementation and analysis experience. Emphasis should be on laboratory tools for Clinical, R&D or Quality groups of an FDA regulated environment. 
  • Experience in designing high performing business processes that are cross-functional and support enterprise-wide capabilities
  • Strong Technical document writing expertise - SOPs, BCM templates etc

Differentiating Qualifications

  • LEAN 6-Sigma TQM certifications and projects from an well-respected training agency
  • Experience in an operational lead role 
  • Preferred working experience in an Agile environment (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Preferred working experience in regulated manufacturing or supply chain operations
