SONET Install Technician

Position Description
Zayo Bandwidth is currently seeking an experienced SONET Install technician to join their team.
Responsibilities
The technician will be responsible for keeping up with service activations or network augmentations as scheduled. This position requires a firm grasp of telecom industry terminology and product information. The individual needs to be detailed oriented and a highly motivated person who can answer inbound phone calls from customers looking for order status on activations as well as coordinate with field engineers for new service builds.
Qualifications
- Three plus years of experience with Telecommunications with an understanding of SONET
- Knowledge of circuit provisioning – DS1 to OC192
- Familiarity with the following vendor products – To include commissioning the system or simple card add’s to an existing system
- Fuji (7420, 7120, 4500, 4100)
- Ciena (6500, 5200, 4200, 3500, CPL)
- Nortel (OC12,OC48,OC192,DX,HDX,3100,3500,5200)
- Cisco(15600,15454,15310)
- Netcool
- Salesforce
- Metasolv
- Strong verbal and typing skills
- Self-motivated individual that can prioritize quickly
