What you’ll do:
We are seeking an agile, talented, ambitious entry level Software Support Engineer to become a part of our tech team. This role will be instrumental in helping to support deployment of software that is changing driver safety across the country. - Collaborate with other departments to triage, document, monitor, and problem solve trending customer issues operational efficiency
- Develop and code fixes to problems
- Initiate and Identify opportunities to improve the customer experience as well as
- Automate and orchestrate workloads across a hybrid cloud solution
- Contribute to the development processes by providing feedback and technical input during sprints to ensure code is production supportable, maintainable and deployed according to best practices
- Implement and utilize a process-based approach for systems and infrastructure support, management, and maintenance
- Identify, recommend and implement solutions that assist with monitoring data quality in our product sets
- Evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations for adoption into our environment
What you'll need:
- BS/BA in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
- 1-3 years related experience
- Self-starter with the ability to collaborate in a team environment following SCRUM and Agile methodologies
- Experience working with at least one of the following languages: Python, or Java
- Experience with automating manual processes
- Automation experience with at least one configuration management system such as Chef (directly or via AWS OpsWorks), Puppet, Ansible, or Salt
- Applied system administration experience (Microsoft, Tomcat, Apache, IIS, SQL, PostgreSQL and RHEL distributions)
- Comfortable with virtualization technologies and AWS solutions
- Understand and have the ability to implement controls for common compliance requirements, including SSAE16 / SOC II, PCI, etc.
- Proficient with git and git workflows
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical issues to nontechnical and technical audiences
