Access Fund is seeking a full-time Software & Data Systems Specialist to help create and manage a sustainable technology infrastructure that supports organizational growth. We are the national climbing advocacy organization that keeps US climbing areas open and conserves the climbing environment. Founded in 1991, Access Fund represents climbers nationwide in all forms of climbing: rock, ice, mountaineering, and bouldering.

Summary of Position: The  Software & Data Systems Specialist (SDSS) is guided by the Access Fund’s Technical Strategist and is a member of the Access Fund Operations team. The SDSS is responsible for:

1) Maintaining and administering our Salesforce CRM, including NGOConnect.

2) Providing technical and software support to the internal team to assist with donor development, membership, functional programs, and technical operations.

3) Collaborating on strategic projects that create sustainable technical infrastructure to support ongoing operations and organizational growth.

The ideal candidate needs to be self-motivated, able to thrive while dealing with change, and enjoy a team-based culture that works in an open office environment. The position is based in  Access Fund’s headquarters in Boulder, Colorado.

Responsibilities  include:

  • Managing the day-to-day CRM and technical infrastructure of the organization.

  • Supporting and maintaining infrastructure surrounding the organization’s data. This includes: regular upgrades, data integrity, troubleshooting, and workflow and process management.

  • Understanding and implementing CRM functionality and best practices to ensure that Access Fund has a cutting edge data system.

  • Developing AF staff into proficient CRM users.

  • Running Access Fund’s data and reporting platforms; developing and implementing systems, workflows, and processes that help streamline and automate fundraising, membership, and programmatic activities.  

  • Designing and producing technical systems that provide critical business information, insights, and solutions across the organization.

Base Qualifications:

  • Ability to work a consistent 40 hour week, with occasional evening and weekend responsibilities.

  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience working in an environment that utilizes a CRM system (non-profit and Salesforce experience preferred).

  • Basic technical integration skills like simple wrapper scripts and SQL queries.

  • Strong computer skills paired with a willingness to learn and propagate best practices for both legacy and newly acquired software tools.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting, with staff based in Boulder, CO office and remote, regional staff.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; including communicating technical issues to non-technical staff.

  • Self-starter, capable of taking direction but working independently.

  • Knowledge of the climbing advocacy work of Access Fund.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree or higher

  • Experience working and managing a non-profit Salesforce Environment

  • More advanced Excel and Access macro/Visual Basic coding

Compensation

  • Pro-deal participation; membership at local bouldering gym

  • Salary range: $45-$57,000
