Senior Professional Services Consultant

We're seeking a Senior Professional Services (PS) Consultant who wants to be a part of a PS organizational transformation designed to meet the challenges of our strategic vision, to transform our Professional Services team to be more than just deployment engineers who come in and stand up the product and instead establish our Professional Service consultants as Trusted Advisors to our customers.

Location: Boulder Colorado HQ / Remote

Responsibilities:

70% - Utilization Management

  • You have ultimate responsibility for maximizing your productive utilization rate (UR), leveraging a variety of mechanisms to enable productive utilization rate maximization, and are accountable for ensuring your calendar is as full as possible.
  • You will achieve and maintain certified instructor status and deliver formal end user product training to customers on a rotational basis.

15% - Individual and Team Development

  • You're passionate about and excel in developing consulting skills.
  • You are responsible for maintaining your skills matrix as an accurate and current reflection of your abilities.
  • Work with your manager to develop an individual training and growth plan to continuously hone your technical and soft skills.
  • You have a solid understanding what it means to be a consultant and continue to improve your consulting skills.
  • You have a strong understanding of all service offerings and how Professional Services can support them.
  • You prepare for new product roll outs.

10% - Relationship Development

  • You work to continuously and proactively build trust-based relationships within the internal LogRhythm and customers teams because you know the quality of your relationships has a significant impact on your success today and tomorrow.

5% - Services Delivery Performance and Quality Oversight

  • You maintain a passionate focus on the quality of the services you deliver to the customer and seek to continuously improve your performance though feedback, learning best practices from peers, monitoring the quantity and types of support tickets opened by customers following your Professional Services engagements, and more.
  • You closely review and become intimately familiar with what is included in your deployment projects Statements of Work (SOW), and maintain detailed insight into the active projects you are working to ensure they are progressing according to planned schedule and milestones and that you're meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
  • You maintain a high level of proactive communications with your customer, team, and management to ensure situational awareness, surface issues, and leverage the resources needed to resolve those.

 Minimum Qualifications (Must Haves):

  • (5) years delivering a technical product in a professional services capacity. General knowledge in any related technical domain.
  • Presenting to peers, managers, and extended internal teams. You're comfortable and confident on-stage (real or virtual), are well-spoken, and communicate clearly and in plain language.
  • General knowledge of Linux, cloud operations, virtual environments, and networking.
  • Demonstrable experiences with PowerShell and/or Python scripting and database querying (examples or demonstration required if interviewing)

Highly Desired Qualifications (Key Discriminators):

  • Security/Cybersecurity domain experience and/or expertise, with SIEM being the ideal.
  • Time in the professional services trenches.
  • Previous consulting experience.
  • Experience working with larger enterprise customers with complex environments.
  • Network +, Security+, and/or CISSP certifications
  • Threat hunting or script writing skills, and the ability to have technical conversations on these topics with the team.
  • Global experience and cultural sensitivity. You've worked in a variety of global settings and understand regional/cultural dynamics.
  • Presenting to Executive and/or C-Suite level
  • Basic project management experience.
  • Experience in the pre-sales process.
  • Experience as a SOC analyst or admin.
  • Experiencing developing APIs.

Personal Qualities/Characteristics:

  • You like to have fun and make it fun for others. At the end of the day, we all should enjoy what we do and doing it together.
  • You're a life-long learner with a growth mindset. You invest in your own development and value this in others as well.
  • You have high change agility and adaptability. You know that things are constantly changing and evolving, and you tend to embrace those opportunities way more than you resist them.
  • You're comfortable with ambiguity. You know you can't know or control everything and that's okay. You do the best with what you have.
  • You’re comfortable being uncomfortable. You know things rarely go as planned and you’re the kind of person who is not only okay with that, but you’re also honest with the customer about the situation and you’re fearless in the face of it.
  • You’re always willing to figure it out. Whatever it is you’re ready to roll up your sleeves and get after it with confidence. When that challenge is a knowledge gap, which it often is, you're able to self-educate because you want to figure it out.
  • You're not just a solo act. While you’re often a solo act when deploying our products in the customers environment, you’re also reliant on the greater team for support as needed because it’s impossible to know everything.
  • You seek continual improvement. You pay attention to yours and others frustrations and are motivated to improve processes and experiences for all involved.
  • You show you care about the team. You recognize that the team’s success is critical to your own and your first impulse is to support that in multiple ways, whether it’s lending a helping hand, sharing your knowledge, mentoring others, or general collaboration. Your willingness to contribute creates a positive team dynamic and others want work with you and have more people like you on the team.
  • You own your own performance. You know what’s expected and you work to meet those expectations consistently. You don’t wait around for direction or guidance from your manager, you’re not reliant on others for help, and comfortable with making a decision with available information.
  • You are graceful under pressure. You know that sometimes you’ll have customers who will be anywhere from irritable to irate. You don’t internalize it, you remain calm in the face of an escalating situation, are able to de-escalate it in the moment, and bring it back to a positive direction.
  • You're a responsive communicator. You know that insufficient communications are the cause of most problems and great communications solve most problems. You strive to keep your management, teammates, and customers continually well informed.
  • You are a great listener. People tell you so. You're one of those people who can bring a conversation back on track because you recall what was being talked about before it derailed. You are sensitive to thoughts and feelings not being communicated and take them into consideration.
  • You're resilient. When Murphy’s Law kicks in, you don’t let it get you down or infect others with negativity. You understand there are ups and downs in the journey and don’t let those derail you or cause you to lose sight of the destination. You bounce back quickly from adversity, know your limits, pay attention to how full your gas tank is, and know how to refill it.
  • You can prioritize. You know not everything is equally critical and make smart choices about where to focus your limited time and attention.
  • You're able to review technical information quickly with a keen sense and attention to details.

Submission Requirements:

  • COVER LETTER REQUIRED: If you've made it this far you must still be interested and can see yourself in the role. Tell us about it. We want to hear your story. What has your professional journey been, up until now? Why are you interested in this role? How are you qualified, how does it fit into your career goals, and what specifically do you bring to the table?
