Position Title

Senior Network Analyst

The Senior Network Analyst’s role is to support network infrastructure and systems including data center, campus, and remote environments. The position will require expert knowledge of Cisco platforms and equipment. Occasional travel will be required.

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively monitor and remediate network and related systems health
  • Provide final resolution of all network related issues across the enterprise
  • Assist in the design, operation, and implementation of field communications networks
  • Configure, implement, and troubleshoot Cisco routing and switching hardware from SOHO to enterprise class model lines
  • Configure, implement, and troubleshoot firmware, software, and configurations running on Cisco routing and switching platforms from SOHO to enterprise class model lines
  • Leverage debugs, packet captures, and other common tools such as SNMP, Netflow, and Syslog to identify and correct issues
  • Work directly with internal and external resources, vendors, and carriers to resolve issues across campus, data center, LAN, MAN, and WAN networks
  • Perform site design and build activities including quotes and ordering, budgeting, BOM creation, SOWs, vendor and carrier project management, and work orders
  • Complete complex projects and installations successfully within aggressive time frames and strict budget parameters without the need for constant supervision
  • Participate in the 24x7x365 on-call rotation
  • Develop and maintain support documentation including diagrams, support guides, knowledge base articles, procedures, and client facing information

Minimum Qualifications

  • University degree in telecommunications, computer science or related technology
  • Minimum 7 years of position related hands-on experience, or 10 plus years of direct position related hands-on experience
  • Oil and Gas industry experience strongly preferred
  • Minimum of advanced CCNP route/switch level skillset with hands-on engineering emphasis
  • Expert understanding of the OSI networking model and how common protocols, applications, and systems relate
  • Expert deploying and troubleshooting various transport technologies including, T1, DS-3, POS, DWDM, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Microwave, Satellite, LTE, POTS, Coaxial, Twinaxial, STP, SMF, MMF, long and short range optics, etc.
  • Expert understanding of and extensive hands-on experience deploying multilayer LAN, MAN, and WAN designs including multiple path, QoS, dynamic routing, route redistribution, route filtering and policies, layer 2 and 3 switching, loop prevention, trunking, virtual and logical aggregation, virtual switches, and VLANs in those implementations
  • Extensive hands-on experience deploying and troubleshooting Cisco autonomous and lightweight wireless networks, systems, and hardware
  • Extensive hands-on experience with data center and campus core networks, including Cisco Nexus platforms running high availability and VDC feature sets
  • Extensive experience engaging and troubleshooting issues with Cisco TAC, WAN providers, Telco carriers, and electrical and cabling vendors
  • Extensive experience monitoring and management via IPAM, SNMP, NetFlow, and Syslog
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office applications with an emphasis on Excel
  • Minimum CCNP route/switch
  • Expert in Cisco Nexus platforms in data center environments
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills based on best practices and scientific methods
  • Ability to conduct deep and effective research into issues and products as required
  • Ability to discuss complex technical ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment with both close and minimal supervision
  • Motivated and eager to volunteer for new tasks and projects
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Exceptional customer service aptitude
