Position Title
Senior Network Administrator
The Senior Network Administrator is responsible for the design, planning, operation, security, and day to day management of the organization's network, servers, switches, network connected devices, and all data communications. This is a three month contract position with the possibility of extension.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively monitor and remediate network and related systems health
- Provide final resolution of all network related issues across the enterprise
- Assist in the design, operation, and implementation of field communications networks
- Configure, implement, and troubleshoot Cisco routing and switching hardware
- Configure, implement, and troubleshoot firmware, software, and configurations running on Cisco routing and switching platforms
- Leverage debugs, packet captures, and other common tools such as SNMP, Netflow, and Syslog to identify and correct issues
- Work directly with internal and external resources, vendors, and carriers to resolve issues across campus, data center, LAN, MAN, and WAN networks
- Complete complex projects and installations successfully within aggressive time frames and strict budget parameters without the need for constant supervision
- Participate in on-call rotation
- Develop and maintain support documentation including diagrams, support guides, knowledge base articles, procedures, and client facing information
Minimum Qualifications
- CCNA Required, CCNP preferred
- Expertise with Cisco switches and routers (5+ years experience required)
- Expertise with Meraki network equipment (2+ years experience desired, though not required)
- Expertise with Palo Alto firewalls (2+ years experience with Palo Alto or 5+ years experience with other firewall platforms)
- Familiarity with Cisco ISE, experience preferred
- Familiarity with Cisco UCS, Jabber, and Collaboration tools, experience preferred
- Familiarity with VMWare platform, experience preferred
- Familiarity with VMWare NSX platform, experience preferred
- Routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP
- Ability to discuss complex technical ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment with both close and minimal supervision
- Motivated and eager to volunteer for new tasks and projects
- Keen attention to detail
- Exceptional customer service aptitude
