POSITION SUMMARY:

 

ArcherDX's patented chemistry and powerful bioinformatics software have placed us at the bleeding edge of the fight against cancer and other genetic diseases. You'll join a multidisciplinary team focused on improving and maturing the Enterprise Information System ecosystem.

 

ArcherDX has a unique opportunity for the right candidate to play a pivotal role as a Senior Information Systems Security Analyst. This role will help improve, develop and implement company wide information security plan and procedures and plans for the organization. The ideal candidate will be a detail oriented, self-starter with a strong IT background; specially network, system and data security on premise and in the cloud.

 

Under the direction of the VP of Information Systems, this successful candidate will help lead the IS Security program and ensuring it meets or exceeds all requirements. They will be tasked to ensure systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with security policies & procedures as outlined in the organizational IT security plan. They will also assess the management, operational, and technical security controls employed in the various information systems to determine the overall effectiveness of the controls and gather compliance evidence.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Consult on the design, development, integration, and analysis of computing systems with other IT peers.
  • With guidance from the VP of IS, will be responsible for systems security, testing and system security validation activities.
  • Ensure audit records are collected and analyzed in accordance with the information security program.
  • Create and/or verify all system security related documentation is current and accessible to properly authorized individuals.
  • Assist with or conduct comprehensive investigation of computer security incidents.
  • Responsible for policy interpretation, ongoing guidance and direction to on-site personnel on IS Security issues, and participation in applicable Review Boards and Technical Exchange Meetings.
  • Develop verification methods for security requirements and controls, execute tests and scans with security assessment tools, analyze test results, and prepare test reports.
  • Review third party assessment results and recommends corrective actions to address vulnerabilities and manage the plan of action and milestones finding closure actions with the stakeholders.
  • Review all IT infrastructure architecture, designs, changes etc. to ensure security is implemented or adhered too according to the organization IT security plan.
  • Will be required to interact with customer personnel on a regular basis regarding ongoing compliance and to coordinate system security modifications.
  • Defines and implement policies, processes and procedures for operations as well as responsible for the key performance metrics of their defined area.
  • Participates in strategy and long-range planning processes within areas of responsibility in support of business and IT strategies.
  • Recommends changes to area that will improve overall effectiveness of the information security program.
  • Maintains constructive relationships with customers and business entities served and ensures such relationships exist throughout the organization.
  • Promotes Project Management methodology and techniques providing structure and guidance to others to reach established goals.
  • Monitors and assesses operating results and creates and/or modifies process for continuous improvements.
  • Review, understanding, and compliance with ArcherDX HIPAA Security policies and procedures.
  • Safeguarding the privacy and security of protected health information and European Union personal data.
  • Willingness to travel to local offices up to 10% of the time.

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 8 years of IT Security experience with IT solutions deployed on premise and in the cloud
  • Minimum 2 years’ professional experience in IT security assessments or governance (Risk management, Compliance, Audits, Software Governance, etc.)
  • Knowledge of risk management frameworks (ISO, NIST, etc.)
  • Extensive knowledge of network architecture, network topology(s), layered security architectures, network & host-based (Windows, Linux, Mac) protections, threat modeling, and security service management
  • Prior experience with engaging with outside IT security firms to perform IT security audits and remediation planning
  • Self-starter, identifies opportunities for improvement and implements positive change
  • Strong customer service skills; ability to interact with diplomacy and tact while maintaining appropriate attention to end goal.
  • Strong background in developing and maintaining effective IT Security processes and documentation.
  • Project management experience or understanding of PM methodologies; utilizing and tracking tasks with proven project tracking tools.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or, equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered
  • Obtain or ability to obtain Security relevant certification (CISM or CISSP) within six months of hire date.
