Senior Director, Strategic Value Group

Job Description

The Senior Director, Strategic Value Group has two prime responsibilities. One is to manage a group of Strategic Value Consultants (SVC’s) and the other is to implement and execute design-led thinking initiatives.

 

Strategic Value Group

Provide leadership and direction for your team to ensure they meet business objectives and engage with sales to drive net new business.   The Strategic Value Group consulting practice at Marketo is an experienced and nimble team helping enterprises understand, buy into, and realize the value of engagement marketing to their business. This is highly visible and experienced team that supports enterprise account executives with a value-based selling methodology.

 

Design Thinking Strategist

Enable a Marketo centered design, complex problem solving, the ability to work across multiple business units, exceptional communication skills, and be able to bring ideas to life visually. In this role, you must be curious and empathetic while learning and driving different ways of working

 

Key Attributes

  • Collaborate with cross-department colleagues to plan, coordinate, and represent Marketo with one-voice, delivering value and professional excellence to all.
  • Experience designing and delivering high quality engagements
  • Deep knowledge of SaaS Marketing Platforms, user centered tools and methods
  • Practitioner experience fueling your ideas, developed and delivered recommendations that are relevant to the business objectives specified by the client organization.
  • Proven knowledge of Design Thinking methods and best practices to learn and integrate different ways of working
  • Proven delivery of strategic recommendations and their financial impact to C-level executives that won approval for a transformational project.
  • The ideal candidate comes with exceptional facilitation, organizational and visual execution skills.
  • Exemplify positive cross-organizational influence
  • A background in facilitation, design, education, and/or design-led thinking

Responsibilities: 

  • Facilitation - Run workshops in an efficient, effective and engaging way to execute complete discovery of clients’ digital marketing current state. Encourage appropriate stakeholders to participate in identifying organizational challenges that hinder achieving desired business outcomes aligned with corporate imperatives.
  • Recommendation - With an understanding of a customer’s current state, coupled with your expertise and analytical mind, deliver actionable recommendations that, when powered by Marketo’s Engagement Marketing Platform, can have a transformative impact on the business.
  • Transformation - Beyond recommendations, collaborate with customers to create and deliver a compelling business case that showcases the financial economic value of moving the needle from a current state to a future state powered by Marketo, transforming the marketing organization from a cost center to a revenue driver.
  • Work Cross-Functionally -
  • Develop Customer Relationships - Build rapport with customers and stakeholders to win and influence.
  • Build Partner Relationships - Partners are often key to the success customers have with Marketo. Your ability to build partner relationships and translate recommendations will continue this pattern of success for customers.
  • Be a Marketo Brand Ambassador - You reflect the core values we aim to embody at Marketo, this role gives the opportunity to represent those values to customers in a highly visible and influential way.

Requirements:

  • 12+ years of professional marketing experience in consulting, business development or strategic sales support environments
  • Solid executive presence and relationship building skills
  • Successful track record of developing, selling and/or delivering digital programs, products and services
  • Ability to work in a self-directed, fast-moving, results-oriented environment
  • Ability to leverage various innovation techniques to engage prospects of varying level of audiences (design thinking, workshop facilitation, customer visioning sessions, etc.)
  • Experience with value-based selling methodologies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or similar field. MBA desired. (or equivalent experience)
