About the team
As a member of the Global Business Resilience organization, the Senior Director of Strategic Resilience is responsible for driving strategic initiatives to strengthen the disaster recovery and resilience capabilities across FIS products and services. Up-leveling the end-to-end resilience program, accounting for interactivity and cross-domain dependencies, identifying and prioritizing all relevant KPIs, and streamlining best-in-practice processes to scale with our rapidly growing and continuously evolving business.
What you will be doing
Work with the Business Continuity team to institute a Product/Service Impact Assessment process as part of the annual DR program cycle
Partner with CIO organization to develop technical recovery design guidelines to ensure the service resiliency for service design, build, and stabilization stages of the Software Development Life Cycle, with a focus on high service availability and better alignment with the product/service’s Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and Recovery Point Objective (RPO)
Drive projects to advance organizational technology standards from technology component standards to design standards including developing technology standard reference architectures and requirements to help resolve critical recovery gaps for critical services
Introduce program enhancements to the GBR process that work to strengthen the quality and accuracy in which application and service criticality is determined by business and technology owners
Own the process and lead the Recovery Capability Alignment process i.e. document interdependencies (business process to app or app to app), ensure mismatched requirements are resolved via management and funding of special DR/resiliency projects and/or brought to the appropriate governing committee for a risk exception
Drive resiliency across the organization into change management practices, new product/service architectural design, technology selection and implementation, etc.
Partner with Crisis Management to design and regularly test Data Center down and other crisis scenarios and champion special resiliency projects, as needed
Drive standardized recovery strategies by category/tier
Enhance DR program requirements to strengthen the use of activation testing over functional and tabletop testing, including documenting and publishing clear direction to recovery requirements for each criticality tier
Ensure transparency of program contribution, (goals, wins and risks) through reporting, providing superior service, and collaboration (soliciting stakeholder issues, expectations, requirements, and ideas) increasing confidence in resilience program
Maximize efficiency and productivity through extensive analysis of processes and performance, recommending and implementing solutions for improvement when necessary
Determine the critical path for project deliverables and coordinate cross-team efforts to complete projects as efficiently as possible
Ensure preparation and the approval for project cost analysis, schedule, and technical baselines, and participates in documented, timely baseline change control
Revise and/or formulate policies and promote their implementation
Evaluate overall performance by gathering, analyzing and interpreting data and metrics
Champion data-driven, continuous improvement efforts, in a solutions-oriented environment.
What you bring:
Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
5+ years work experience within an IT department
5+ years working knowledge of critical business functions, process, products and services
Strong understanding of ITDR, ITIL, ITSM practices and processes
Proven ability to work at all levels of the organization
Expert in MS Office tool suite
Good understanding of Application/System architectures from development perspective
Strong presentation skills and the ability to bring data to life
Excellent program/project management skills
Capable of developing strong and cooperative inter-departmental partnerships for joint actions and/or projects
Ability to assess business and financial impacts for critical business and technology functions and identify acceptable recovery time objectives and recovery point objectives for all products/services
Ability to create and implement related ITDR standards and procedures
In-depth risk assessment and solution management skills – strong problem solver
Strong communication skills with the ability to facilitate meetings and influence decision making
Strong analytical skills needed to identify business process improvement, separate key issues, consider alternatives or multiple solutions, and effectively make recommendations
Cybersecurity expertise, experience and certifications preferred
