Security Learning & Development Specialist
Zoom is seeking a talented Security Learning & Development Specialist to join our cyber security team. The Security Learning & Development Specialist will develop information security learning deliverables. The individual will identify groups to target for training efforts, content management, and distribute training material using the learning management system. Tracking and reporting reach and effectiveness of training is also a key responsibility. This position reports to the Security Learning & Development Manager.
You will work with subject matter experts across the information technology and cyber security teams to ensure our security learning performance-based objectives are met within each deliverable. Responsibilities include creating, updating, and maintaining blended learning solutions, writing technical documentation, contributing to communications, creating security presentations, and collaborating with security partners.
The Security Learning & Development Specialist should have a passion for developing content and be able to work in a fast-paced environment, stay focused on producing sound learning deliverables while meeting tight deadlines. The L&D Specialist will conduct analyses prior to creating learning solutions. The individual will use the ADDIE methodology and/or similar process to ensure ROI for each learning deliverable.
General Functions And Outcomes
Participate in the development of a security learning program for end users using the ADDIE framework to design blended learning solutions.
Consult with the business and create customized blended learning solutions to promote security education to internal and external learners.
Develop outlines and drafts for review and approval by security leadership and compliance management ensuring that final deliverables meet applicable technical industry and compliance standards.
Evaluate training projects to assess effectiveness and impact.
Conduct audience analysis to determine learning objectives and methods.
Translate security technical process information into user-friendly content.
Provide expertise in the creation, implementation and maintenance of appropriate learning
deliverables to be compliant with applicable technology, regulatory and compliance
requirements including ISO 27001, SSAE 18 (SOC 2 Type II), and HIPAA.
Consult relevant regulatory, information sources and resources, and technical documents, to
obtain background information and verify pertinent guidelines and regulations governing
technical documentation deliverables are applied.
Manage internal partnerships with business SMEs and Security Performance Management
team members as responsible for the implementation of security learning deliverables
Publishes and archives in the Learning Management System (LMS) online learning solutions,
assigns training curricula, as well as adds and deletes resources as needed to maintain security
learning content.
Assist in compliance audits working with qualified security assessors, engineers, and
compliance teams.
Make recommendations to management at all levels to ensure that appropriate levels of compliance are maintained.
Continuously promote security awareness and work with stakeholders on improving security training.
Passion for self-development, seeking to expand knowledge and perform duties outside of expertise in order to develop and diversify skills.
Collaborate with cross-functional team members to achieve program success.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, Computer Science or Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience
3 or more years of experience in the security training & awareness, compliance governance, risk or cyber security field
Knowledge of published security standards (NIST, OWASP, ISO, SOC2)
Experience delivering documentation to both technical and non-technical audiences
Must be able to effectively communicate with varied company stakeholders utilizing
excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to establish credibility and working relationships with a wide range of corporate
personnel, including operations, management, executive and legal staff as well as external
personnel, including auditors and customers
Organization skills to include the ability to maximize productivity, prioritize projects and
keep track of security learning deliverables
Analytical skills with the ability to research, analyze information and problem-solve to
reach a meaningful conclusion Preferred
Qualifications
Project management experience
Experience with PowerPoint or presentation software, graphics, and user design
Experience drawing and designing data flow/architectural diagrams, and gantt charts
Experience working in video communications, technology, or financial services industry.
Security certifications such as SSAP, CSAP, Security+, CISA, CISM, CISSP, GIAC
Certification in Change Management, Instructional Design, Talent Development
