The Position

We are in the process of obtaining our B Corp certification,  enabling us to put our values into action by not only making decisions for the benefit of our shareholders, but also for our customers, environment, employees, and community.

We are seeking fall/winter seasonal, hourly Customer Care Representatives to join our team and help us achieve our ambitious goals for our business and the planet.

What you get to do:

• Respond to Tier 3 customer requests through phone, email, and online chat.
• Empathize with the customer and be their advocate.
• Provide Tier 3 support for a variety of tasks, processes, and projects.
• Ask probing questions and proactively solve customer support problems that arise.
• Assist with escalated calls, chats, or emails from customers who experience issues with purchases, program sign-up processes, payment issues, general troubleshooting, general account assistance, and returns.
• Learn all the ‘ins and outs’ of the products and services offered, and properly assist users with selecting the appropriate products/programs for their needs.
• Assist other departments with day-to-day tasks
• Gather information and update internal documentation and databases as programs and products change

Skills and experience are necessary, but we hire on value alignment first, so if you feel you would be a good fit with us, still consider applying.

What you bring to Uplight:

• 1-3 years providing professional customer support in a customer care or call center environment
• Proactive, critical thinking,  and problem solving skills 
• Ability to see obstacles as opportunities and turn them into success
• Quick learner, willing to take initiative, and great follow through
• Ability to work independently 
• Aligned to Uplight’s mission
• Self-aware and a positive, enthusiastic attitude
• Patient, empathetic approach to troubleshooting and customer service
• Pride of ownership of responsibilities and motivated to exceed expectations
• Experience with Zendesk 
• Availability to work Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, and New Year’s Eve

Bonus Points:

• Shopify experience
• Technical background
