Turing School of Software & Design is seeking a Recruitment Manager to join our growing team onsite in downtown Denver, CO.

Turing offers intensive, full-time, instructional programs for adults working to become professional software developers. Turing is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization working to train a diverse, inclusive student body to succeed in high-fulfillment technical careers.

We’ve built a strong academic program and track record of student success. We’ve recruited, graduated, and helped find employment for nearly a thousand students. But after five years, recruitment and enrollment are still a challenge. We have the capacity for 392 students to graduate from our existing programs each year. But classes regularly start with open seats leading to gaps in our revenue and more importantly, gaps in our impact.

This position is being created to specifically target two of our five 2019 Achievements:

  1. Demographics
Purpose: To fulfill our mission we must increase the diversity of incoming students and ensure it remains through graduation.
Metric: Our racial and gender demographics are representative (+/- 3%) of the racial and gender demographics of Denver County.

  2. Enrollment
Purpose: For both our organizational financial stability and to allow ample time for students to complete our prep class (“Mod 0”), we want classes (beginning every 7 weeks) to fill up with confirmed students far in advance of the start date.
Metric: Each cohort is 90% enrolled 90 days before the start date

To ensure the success of our students and organization, the Recruitment Manager will work towards those achievements and own the challenge of getting success-ready students into the program by:

  • Analyzing data and trends to develop a comprehensive and strategic recruitment plan

  • Operationalizing the recruitment plan, setting and achieving set-forth milestones and objectives

  • Managing a cohesive recruitment team including our Brand Coordinator, Enrollment Manager, and related contractors

  • Testing, measuring and refining recruitment efforts in short intervals

  • Reviewing our engagement-to-applicant tracking system/processes to find and implement ways to optimize the funnel, and increase the matriculation rate amongst interested and admitted applicants

  • Strategizing and running recruitment efforts for new programs or pilot programs such as our Second Shift evening classes

  • Working with the Sr. Director of Operations to set the vision of student recruitment for the future

Qualifications & Our Expectations

High quality applicants will have some or all of the following:

  • Experience in a similar role of organizational strategic planning and management, particularly in an academic or small business setting

  • Exceptional organizational skills, especially as they relate to designing data tracking systems and analyzing data trends

  • History of designing and implementing multi-month or multi-year strategic marketing, brand-building, engagement, and outreach plans

  • Experience with student recruitment or customer acquisition processes and planning

  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills

  • Comfort with taking the kernel of an idea and independently seeing it through

  • Ability to quickly ramp-up on Turing’s culture, community, and language

  • Experience working in a technology, education, or workforce development setting

Performance in this role will be measured by:

  • Trends in the Day 1 enrollment percentage of each new cohort

  • Growth towards success at 2019’s “Demographics” Achievement

  • Growth towards success at 2019’s “Enrollment” Achievement

  • Feedback from the staff, student applicants, enrollees, students, and alumni

Employee Expectations

The employee can expect to:

  • Have a starting salary of $79,763 with approximately a 1.2% raise every seven weeks

  • Have fully paid premium health insurance and 50% coverage for family in addition to
    long-term disability insurance
