The Role
FoodMaven is seeking to hire an entrepreneurially spirited Protein Supply Manager who has a rock-solid work ethic, great interpersonal and leadership skills, and the aspiration to make a big impact in the food system. As Protein Supply Manager, you are responsible for initiating relationships with new suppliers and managing accounts with existing suppliers and driving intake of sellable supply.
This position is based in Colorado Springs or Denver and reports to the Director of Supply.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Build and cultivate relationships in the protein supplier development funnel in multiple Metro Service Areas
- Accountable for meeting or exceeding monthly inventory mix to plan
- Continually grow the value of the FoodMaven solution for each supplier by working closely with the FoodMaven Sales and Marketing teams
- Work closely with the FoodMaven Product team to identify opportunities and areas of improvement in the development and application of technology to enhance the effectiveness and scalability of supply operations
- Work closely with the FoodMaven Ops team to communicate inbound and on-hand product storage requirements and assist in quality assurances processes.
- Create and manage sustainable processes that create a more efficient and effective work environment for a growing team
- Attend industry events and conferences when needed
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- 3 years protein sales, business development, or procurement experience
- Alignment with core Mission, Values and Culture of FoodMaven
- Strong presentation and communication skills (verbal, written and active listening)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office as well as Sales CRM tools
- Drive, conscientiousness, perseverance to succeed in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- A dynamic “hunter” personality with an instinct to reach decision makers
- Collaborative and creative thinker who is solution driven
- Ability to execute with limited direction from management
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years experience doing sales or business development in a start-up
- Demonstrated ability to develop and/or grow supply channel relationships
- Bachelor of Arts/Science degree, preferably in Business Sales, Marketing or equivalent experience
- Supplemental relevant education such as sales training program
