Position Description
The Project Manager, IT Infrastructure and Operations position is responsible for overseeing all infrastructure engineering and cybersecurity initiatives and projects by understanding and maintaining a process management system. In this role, the project manager will gain a deep understanding of network infrastructure and security best practices at an accelerated pace and take responsibility for teaching self and asking thoughtful questions of management. Core competency of the project manager will be in taking responsibility of the direction, coordination, implementation, execution, and completion of specific projects ensuring consistency with best practices, commitments and goals. The project manager will also act as problem coordinator in relation to all SOC related cases that are assigned to members of the IT I&O team to ensure all trouble cases are assigned and completed in a timely and effective manner.
Responsibilities
- Oversee process and procedure in regards to large security initiative deployments.
- Create, assign, and manage deliverables in support of project completion for all IT I&O quarterly project goals.
- Clearly communicate project priority and track progress on weekly and daily scheduled team meetings.
- Manage all project tracking systems to effectively report data driven progress on a weekly basis.
- Communicate at a high-level to SVP and CTO status updates for quarterly progress on I&O and security initiatives.
- Act as point of contact between technical teams and Zayo employees to identify project requirements in relation to upcoming changes or new procedure that affects internal or external daily processes; assist as point of contact for escalation when applicable.
- Maintain organization effectiveness by keeping a database and understanding of all training, process, and policy documentation is properly built and maintained.
- Assist with financial objectives in coordination with FP&A by managing project budgets and labor; ensure all spend is accounted for and in-line with forecast.
- Establish and maintain trusting relationships with point product and business stakeholders.
- Understand team ecosystem, projects, and workload to define appropriate prioritization of tasks.
- Provide support for employee relations (hiring, salary treatment, bonus targets, headcount management, etc.).
- Oversee integration related needs for IT organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year College or University.
- Two to five years process development experience, development, project management.
- Proven ability to work with IT managers and administrators to identify improvements and implement change.
- Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking.
- Ability to communicate across teams within the IT ecosystem and externally to all employees and vendors.
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills; ability to effectively delegate and offer process guidance.
- Adaptability in a fast paced and quickly changing environment.
- Proven experience as project administrator.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
- Strong working knowledge of Salesforce.
- Basic understanding of ITIL process management.
