The Gig:

  • Answer inbound calls professionally, with high energy and a positive attitude and a little charm
  • Respond accurately and thoroughly to caller inquiries and document call detail accordingly
  • Must be a resourceful and creative problem solver. Things go wrong. But you should be looking forward to anticipate areas of concern or risk. When unanticipated issues come up at exactly the wrong time (as they tend to do), you should be world-class at quickly and constructively working with members of the team to find solutions.
  • The ability to jump in and help out. This is a “roll up your sleeves” position, and you’ll need to understand our business, our clients business and processes so you can help others effectively do their jobs.
  • Ensure compliance in all areas of processing, completing all transactions timely and accurately
  • Perform a variety of daily operational tasks and work with carriers to correct export and import error reports
  • Take accountability for entire process from receipt of work to resolution and closure
  • Work under general supervision following established procedures

    Inbound Calls: Accountable for taking inbound calls from members

    • Answer inbound calls from members and educate them on their choices when electing employee benefits
      • Respond accurately and thoroughly to call inquiries
    • Ensure compliance to protect client’s personal health information
    • Thoroughly document inquiry outcomes for accurate tracking and analysis

    Case Management and Research: Accountable for resolving open inquires (cases) from clients and communicating outcome.

What you need to make the cut:

  • 1+ years of service center or customer service experience
  • Life and health licensing preferred or obtained within 6 months of employment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, bilingual (Spanish) preferred
  • Bachelors Degree preferred
  • Experience with and strong understanding of various call center technologies and platforms
  • Can self-start and maintain a positive, upbeat attitude
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Life, Health & Personal Lines Licensing: All agents required achieve and maintain requirements

Due to the seasonal and sometimes unpredictable nature of employee benefits insurance activities, job responsibilities and priorities are fluid and fluctuate based on business needs. For example, there may be times when business needs dictate that this classification is required to handle customer calls up to eight hours a day.
