What we’re looking for:
The Operations Engineer is responsible for system monitoring and management.
What You’ll Do:
- Monitoring - Systems, Network and Server Status. Monitor system consoles for errors or problems. Notify Network Admin(s) of hardware issues. Monitor user and system activity.
- System Maintenance - Update files, follow reboot/reset procedures accurately. Database Maintenance.
- Production processing - Identify failed and/or inaccurate system processes. Troubleshoot problems for Operations, System Admin or Programming issues. Notify proper contacts/resource(s) to complete task.
- Communication of outages to customers and company stakeholders.
- Deployment of software updates to proprietary applications.
- Keep current on new and routinely changed procedures.
- Maintain operations documentation on new tasks and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned and/or requested.
What we want:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred in computer or engineering curriculum.
- 4-5 years IT experience required with minimum of two (2) years experience in Data Center Operations.
- Excellent organizational skills, including ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills and attention to detail. Ability to understand and follow complex procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment within intense deadlines.
- Ability to function at a high level of effectiveness, flexibility, independence and initiative.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Possesses the ability to quickly learn and apply technology solutions.
- Experience with MS Windows and Linux environments required.
- Reliable attendance is critical.
