As the Office Coordinator at Tortuga, you’ll be the heartbeat of our startup environment. You’ll bring outgoing energy, a focus on detail, ability to handle multiple tasks, and a passion for sustainability as you take ownership and get stuff done. You’ll report to the People Ops Lead and will interact with the team daily. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced, flexible, and energized startup environment. As an early team member, you’ll directly impact our success, growth, and culture and are excited to help Tortuga grow. 

What you’ll do

  • Make the office a productive, inspiring, clean, safe, sustainable, and an awesome place to be

  • Take full ownership over office management and propose exciting new ideas - where things go, logistics of working together, keeping things clean and organized, and what needs to be improved or maintained

  • Ensure our invoices and bills are paid and expenses are reimbursed in a timely manner; work with our accounting firm to resolve any A/P and A/R issues

  • Manage relationships with vendors such our office cleaners, recycling/composting companies, facilities maintenance, and office catering 

  • Provide account and inventory management of office/restroom supplies and snacks; place orders with Amazon and Costco and handle returns, as necessary

  • Work with the People Ops Lead, CEO, Chief of Staff, and others to help build a vibrant and productive team culture, including events and other cultural touchstones. We’re open to your ideas!

  • Assist with recruiting efforts: contact with candidates, interview coordination, process management, etc. 

  • Special projects, as assigned

What we’re looking for

  • Required: 1-3 years of experience in office administration; bill paying and expense reimbursement experience strongly preferred

  • Required:  Minimum of a high school diploma

  • Required: Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to organize and prioritize, and excitement to “Get Stuff Done” across multiple priorities and to-do lists

  • Required: Excellent interpersonal skills: clear and direct communication, positive attitude and energy, patience, persistence, and passion for teamwork

  • Passion for our mission and for sustainability in general

  • Previous experience with GSuite, Slack, and other modern workforce tools

  • Strong interest in working in an startup environment, with previous startup experience preferred

 

Please note you must be authorized to work in the US for this position.

There is no relocation assistance for this position; local candidates strongly preferred.

The base salary range below represents the low and high end of our salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Tortuga’s total compensation package for employees.  

Denver area base salary range: $42,000 - $57,000 per year.

Location

We have plenty of free parking and are conveniently located just north of downtown Denver with easy access from I-25, I-70 and Highway 36.
