ABOUT THE TEAM:
The Network Security Engineering team is accountable for Third level support of the Network Security infrastructure within the GTO-Network organization. They provide the Engineering functions for the network environment globally to ensure availability and growth occur in a timely manner to assist our clients in achieving their first to market goals. Network Security Engineering is responsible for providing stability, security and efficiency to the overall network environment globally when dealing with project and incident management.
FIS JOB LEVEL DESCRIPTION:
The Network Security Director will be responsible for managing data network security team responsible for planning, design, installation, support and maintenance in a multi-platform environment the entire enterprise. Makes final decisions on administrative or operational matters and ensures operations effective achievement of objectives. Ensures budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements. Regularly interacts with executives and/or major customers Directs and controls the activities of a broad functional area through several managers and senior managers. Has overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expense priorities and recommending and implementing changes to methods. Directly responsible for managing a staff of six or more direct reports, including primarily managers/senior managers and supervisors and may include some senior-level individual contributors and contractors. Works closely with executives on departmental issues. Has very wide latitude for decision-making. Typically requires more than fifteen years of related network planning, engineering and/or operations experience with at least six years of leadership responsibility for large network functions.
GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:• Leads development of innovation and strategic direction in application theories/principle concepts in data network design, configuration, administration, maintenance and/or support.• Develops and implements standards, procedures and processes for the network security function.
• Improves upon existing processes in place with little to no negative impact to delivery, reliability or effectiveness.
• Implements improvements to project delivery processes.
• Partners with CISO organization regularly to ensure security policies match practices.
• Active leader in budget process, and cost reduction efforts.
• Driver of Audit actions and Vulnerability remediations.
• Projects long-range requirements for data networks in conjunction with other managers in the information systems function as well as business function managers.
• Drives continuous improvement of documentation surrounding the environment.• Assigns personnel to various projects and directs their activities.• Confers with and advises subordinates on administrative policies/procedures, technical problems, priorities and methods.
• Tracks Demand Management process and resolves issues with gaps in capacity when compared to velocity.
• Responsible for Lifecycle management, while working with budgetary constraints.
• Optimize organizational structure within the team.• Resolves issues and contributes to the development of the data network function.• Leads and develops network analysts and other technical personnel to ensure career growth and achievement of organizational goals, including interim and annual performance reviews.• Manages work efforts of supervisors/individual contributors with responsibility for hiring, firing, performance appraisals and pay reviews.• Researches and evaluates new technologies, products and techniques that could meet future data network needs.• Defines and negotiates service level agreements for data network operations.• May involve company-hosted, Web-enabled solutions or may include project-based jobs in conjunction with Professional Services and outsourcing functions.• Participates in disaster recovery/business continuity activities as needed.• Roles can have an internal or external client focus.
• Manages vendor relationships and drives for improved support from those vendors.• Other related duties assigned as needed.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:• Broad knowledge of network design, configuration, operations and administration with strong leadership skills• Knowledge of network technologies, i.e., routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls, network and routing protocols, DNS
• Focus on various firewall vendor offerings, Proxy VPN and other Network Security specific infrastructure.
• Experience with developing network automation functionality and implementing at scale.• Knowledge of basic IT technologies, i.e., operating systems, network devices, software development and architecture• Knowledge of data network architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission and signaling links and protocols• Excellent customer service skills that build high levels of customer satisfaction for internal and external clients• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization, e.g., executive, management, individual contributors• Willingly shares relevant technical and/or industry knowledge and expertise to other resources
• Working knowledge of Agile Project Management processes.• Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, team and time management skills• Is resourceful and proactive in gathering information and sharing ideas• Proven project management skills• Demonstrated customer-focused leadership ability
