Stateless is looking for an experienced Network Operations Engineer to help build the foundation of the Network Operations team. 

ABOUT THE JOB 

You will be responsible for helping Stateless' customers diagnose and resolve complex networking issues. You will also serve as a customer advocate for timely resolution of issues, as well as problem reproduction and escalation.

You should be comfortable managing high profile customers and collaborating with a diverse group of teams, such as engineering and sales. You will work alongside the Network Operations Manager to build new processes, create knowledge base articles, and develop a training plan for future teammates. This role may require limited travel. You will have exposure to our software development processes and software implementation and customization in support of our customer’s success.

ABOUT YOU 

We are looking for an experienced candidate who is passionate about their work and eager to help others. Having a strong background in networking will help prepare you for success in this role. However, you may not understand everything that there is to know about network engineering. A solid foundation in network protocols, troubleshooting Layers 1-4, and experience in scripting will get you on the right track. While expert level knowledge of REST APIs is not a requirement, you should have a desire to learn practice, and support API based network automation. 

You’ll excel in this role if you have experience with writing technical knowledge base articles, successful handling of customer escalations, and supporting SLAs in a timely manner. You will need to be an excellent communicator to work with customers as well as internal teams to solve complex problems and present thoughtful solutions. In tough situations, you remain calm, cool, and collected with a “never give up” attitude. 

Here are a few more skills and experiences that would be good for the position: 

• Previous experience in 24/7/365 network managed services and/or data center environment.
• Networking experience with BGP routing, packet filters, IPSEC, Layer 3 WAN. Even better if you have had direct experience implementing network solutions.
• Exposure to REST APIs and scripting (e.g. python).
• Experience using and optimizing IT service management and operations software.
• Experience with customer incident management and event escalation.
• Use and implementation of SaaS-based IT Operations Management systems.
• Colocation Cross-connect & network interconnection provision and use.
• Understanding of multi-vendor network environments (e.g. Juniper, Cisco, and Fortinet)
