WHY ARE WE HIRING FOR THIS ROLE?

As Maxwell has grown, the hundreds of lenders on our platform are asking more of us. And we realize we have become more to them than just a point of sale. Therefore, we launched the Maxwell Fulfillment Platform. Powered by our technology, we offer a dedicated network of processors making it easier for lenders to deliver a flexible, efficient, and high-quality processing experience. We are rapidly expanding this Maxwell Fulfillment Platform and looking for talented and experienced Mortgage Operations Managers to lead our fulfillment teams.

HOW WILL YOU CONTRIBUTE?

The Mortgage Operations Manager will be responsible for the development and management of knowledgeable and high performance teams of processors, underwriters, closers and post close staff. The manager will assist in client and project onboarding and implementation as well as assisting with the long term relationship. Driving production and quality metrics is basic to this position. The Manager will be responsible for troubleshooting and developing solutions to staffing and workflow challenges and will be actively involved in training and mentoring junior staff members. Some specific responsibilities include:

  • Take an active role with Client/Project onboarding and project implementation
  • Interview and assess employment candidates
  • Set expectations for staff performance and manage to those expectations
  • Provide expertise as a Subject Matter Expert to staff as needed
  • Manage production to meet turn time objectives
  • Manage quality of production to meet required metrics
  • Provide second level review for complex or problematic underwriting files
  • Troubleshoot challenges to work flow or staff productivity and offer constructive solutions
  • Communicate with the client and staff a positive and constructive fashion to resolve issues, maintain a positive workplace and strong client relations
  • Evaluate, mentor and develop junior staff members

HOW WILL YOU KNOW YOU ARE QUALIFIED?

You are an experienced mortgage operations professional with a clear track record in the field on your resume.   • 10+ years of hands on experience in processing, underwriting, closing and post close 
  • 5+ years recent and successful supervisory or management experience with mortgage operations teams 
  • Minimum 5 years conventional underwriting experience with signing authority 
  • Knowledge of recent FNMA/FHLMC underwriting guidelines required 
  • Ability to assess risk factors and their impact on underwriting decisions 
  • Appraisal analysis skills required 
  • Working knowledge of TRID, QM and ATR regulations and their impact on best practices 
  • Thorough knowledge of federal and state laws pertaining to the mortgage banking industry (i.e.: TILA, ECOA, RESPA etc.) 
  • Experience in interviewing and assessing employment candidates 
  • Experience in making hiring recommendations or decisions and building teams 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multi-dimensional projects and implementations 
  • Knowledge of and experience with corrective action, ability to troubleshoot and analyze work flows and procedures to facilitate improvement 
  • Excellent analytical & communication skills, verbal and written 
  • Exceptional organizational and customer service skills required 
  • Training experience required

  • Mentor and develop staff members
  • Demonstrate training and mentoring skills which foster development of supervisors and staff members
  • Juggle multiple and competing priorities while maintaining control and composure
