Paladina Health is seeking an experienced Medical Operations Leader to join the team at our corporate headquarters in Downtown Denver! This individual will lead the charge of scaling the business and service operations for Paladina Health as we enter into an exciting phase of growth.  The individual must be willing to work in a fast-paced, start-up environment where he/she will play an integral role in managing the Western region as well as leading the design and build-out of our central functions, keeping close site of risk management.  This dynamic leader will lead a team of both clinical and business operations teammates that are passionate about changing healthcare.

Essential Functions:

LEADERSHIP

  • Ensure the organizational structure is appropriate for supporting Paladina Health’s current and future business needs. Manage, motivate, and develop all staff within the operations group at varying levels from Medical Assistants, LPNs, RNs, managers, analysts, etc. Recruit appropriate talent.
  • Thorough knowledge of principles and practices of customer service and relations to develop and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction with services and products delivered.
  • Partner closely with medical leadership and other cross-functional peers to build strong collaboration and support the leadership quorum at this level.
  • Support and lead vendor relationships to ensure Paladina is leveraging best of breed partners and focused on our core competencies.
  • Responsible for leading committees/task forces, implementation teams, and training sessions, as necessary, to promote the continual improvement of services that support patients, physicians and access.

 PLANNING/OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT

  • Evaluate all operations/administrative functions to make determinations on scalable model for growth and implement a new level of risk management, determining which functions could alleviate burden on our care teams by performing centrally.
  • Translate business needs into people/process/technology solutions making maximum use of available tools while ensuring longer term supportability of the service.
  • Transform key concepts of service excellence and satisfaction into actionable programs and quality metrics that can be standardized across the network with the ability to impact change.
  • Institute a highly data-driven approach to predict and manage future growth, seasonal trends, etc. ensuring staff coverage and highlight areas where technology and central solutions would improve business outcomes.
  • Lead, develop and implement operational initiatives that enable Paladina Health to compete more vigorously and more profitably in a constantly changing and demanding marketplace.
  • Establish, maintain and reports on metrics that demonstrate value and quality delivered to clinics and customers.
  • Develop a benchmark driven management structure identifying and monitoring key performance indicators. Confirm that performance quality/outcomes scorecards and benchmarking activities are in place and that the operations team utilizes this data to make improvements in clinical and business operations.
  • Implement robust, repeatable and efficient risk management function to ensure patient safety, business risk mitigation aligning to appropriate healthcare and industry best practices and certifications.

 FINANCE

  • Develop budget for the department and allocates funds within budget limit to accomplish objectives. Monitor variance against budget on an ongoing basis.
  • Use forecasting and planning processes to identify capital and technology acquisitions and program development

Education, Experience, Competencies and Skills Required:

  • Minimum ten years of experience in Health Care Administration and/or Ambulatory setting required. At least 5 years of progressively responsible management experience required, preferably in an ambulatory setting with functional experience spanning:  practice administration, revenue cycle management, call center, scheduling and access management, compliance, business-wide strategic planning and budget, financial management.
  • 4-year college degree, MBA desired.
  • Strongly preferred experience in scaling a small organization for rapid growth while maintaining and exceeding best in class service standards.
  • Well-rounded business background with a broad understanding of healthcare and services operations.
  • Verifiable track record of effective leadership which includes strong strategic thinking and successful execution with technical and intellectual resources.
  • Ability to establish immediate credibility at all levels, inside and outside the organization
