Manager, Special Operations

We are a cloud-native SaaS machine data analytics platform, solving complex monitoring problems for DevOps, SecOps and ITOps teams. Our customers, including Airbnb, Twitter, BBC and Toyota, choose our solution because it allows them to easily monitor and optimize their large scale applications. Our micro services architecture in AWS ingests hundreds of TB daily across many geographic regions. 

The Sumo Logic Special Operations (SpecOps) Team (under the larger Customer Success umbrella) is a team of elite threat hunters and threat researchers. Its mission is to serve subscribing customers as an extension of their security and SOC teams, providing regular threat hunting sessions, threat research, content tuning and countermeasure development.

As the Manager of the SpecOps team you will lead and develop the team and the SpecOps program. You will be a hands-on leader providing domain expertise while enabling professional and personal growth for the team. You will also interface with other Customer Success teams as well as with various other parts of the organization, from Product Management and Engineering to Sales and Marketing.

 What you will do:

  • Build and develop a best-in-class Threat Hunting & Threat Research team
  • Define and refine processes, organizational structure and packages we offer
  • Represent the program to internal stakeholders, customers and prospects
  • Create an environment to enable growth, both of each individual Analyst, and of the team
  • Promote the culture of ownership, responsibility and cooperation
  • Share Sumo Logic’s technical vision and business perspective to the team
  • Cultivate excellence through metrics, continuous learning and blameless culture

 We are looking for a person who has:

  • Previous experience leading a team
  • A mindset of an enabler
  • Strong technical/architecture background
  • Experience with one of the major Cloud Providers (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Expertise in multiple of these areas: SOC, SIEM, Threat Hunting, Threat Research, Pentesting, IR
