The Role: 

This position is responsible for the overall strategy, architecture and implementation of all computing resources and infrastructure used by PopSockets. This includes our shared global network resources, cloud and on premise servers and data storage devices and software such as database systems, filesystems, enduser SaaS applications and access control systems. In addition, this role is responsible for end user computing platforms we use on the laptops and devices we deploy for end-user applications. This role is responsible for provisioning and maintaining the end-user computing devices and peripherals and the software we deploy on those devices. Managerially this position directs and leads a staff of system, network admins and database admins to support our internal and cloud infrastructure. This role manages, develops, trains and leads the resources, employees and contractors to deliver our computing services worldwide. This is a service management position in that it manages a service request ticketing system and assures their staff responds to the work requests and manages to service levels goals in responding and completing those work requests. Finally, this role is responsible for the systems and processes that protect our information systems, networks and devices and physical security access control to our facilities. This role collaborates with PopSockets Application Development and Information Security Officer to ensure that the data on the servers and compute resources are protected from unauthorized access and data loss prevention. 



Responsibilities

  • Guide requirements definition, evaluation, selection and implementation of network resources
  • Guide requirements definition, evaluation, selection and implementation of server resources
  • Guide requirements definition, evaluation, selection and implementation of desktop and pc resources
  • Provision manage, configure and administer end user computing software and laptops, workstations as part of the new hire onboarding process
  • DeProvision manage, de-configure and administer end user computing software and laptops, workstations as part of the employee off-boarding process
  • Monitor server and network systems for performance and security issues
  • Administer database servers, clusters, backups
  • Provision all except the applications running on those resources that are managed by the IT applications group
  • Work collaboratively with the IT Application group to assure that the network, storage and compute resources provide adequate service level for the applications requirements
  • Maintain conference room VOIP phone and collaboration tools
  • Implement software and monitoring tools for proactive SLA support of networks and servers

Requirements

  • At least 5 years experience managing an IT Network and Systems Admin Function
  • More than 10 years experience in IT Administration of Servers and Networks
  • At least 3 years experience with MAC and Windows personal computing
  • Management experience with Systems, Database and Network Administrators as employees
  • Experience with Cloud Service Provisioning at Azure or Amazon Experience with Google Suite of Office 365 Suite, and Sharepoint
  • Experience with Slack, Zoom, management as collaboration tools
  • Work experience with Vendor management, project budgeting and Expense Management
  • Work experience with eCommerce platforms B2B and B2C, Shopify and SalesForce preferred
  • Exceptional listener with strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Customer obsessed
  • Strong problem resolution skillsStrong desire to mentor and grow capabilities of the team 

Pay range: $110,000 to $120,000
