Job Description:

The Manager, ECS IT (Intelligence Automation) is responsible is to demonstrate & provide technical leadership skills to help shape the strategy, architecture, design and implementation of scalable IT solutions across the ECS Global IA organization. The IT Manager- Intelligent Automation (IA) will be responsible for combining consulting, modern Information Technology (IT) expertise, and R&D knowledge to transform the way IT is applied in process automation and data science. This role is accountable for transformational technology initiatives that will enable overall R&D mission and strategic Imperatives which is going to lead us to our future by accelerating growth of data sciences to solve problem. As a strategic partner, the IT Manager- IA will influence future technology evolution to support data science, process automation and artificial intelligence. You, as the IT Manager, will be intricately involved in running creating data pipelines, running analytical experiments, model development and deployments in a methodical manner and regulate the deployed models. The IA manager will facilitate discussions and act as a relationship manager with the business and IT maintaining the project queue, prioritization, coordination across all business groups. This includes working with the business and the technology areas to understand requirements for IT development and management in a fast-paced environment.

In this role you will become part of the Global Intelligence Automation team reporting into the Director of Global ECS BI & Automation.

What You'll Be Doing

The Manager, ECS IT (Intelligence Automation) is a forward-thinking humble leader who is responsible for the managing the efforts of an ECS IA team in developing IA technologies along with executing vision, direction, and specific objectives for Global IA .

  • Responsible for driving strategic direction of IA Department in the areas of development, services, planning, system health, performance metrics, project management.
  • High degree of technical aptitude over a wide scope of automation architecture, data analysis, data model design and AI applications to provide technical direction and mentorship to team.
  • Resource allocation and work distribution to support the IT initiatives and ensure that project deliverables and ongoing production support efforts meet service level expectations of business stakeholders, leverage best practices, and adhere to internal processes and standards.
  • Manage staff including remote staff in all aspects of hiring, performance management, salary administration, career development, motivation, and teambuilding.
  • Ensuring projects are delivered on time and budget by holding contributors accountable for delivering on project milestones and deliverables.
  • Actively work within and coordinate the activities of project teams consisting of business users, project managers, business analysts and functional consultants.
  • Focus on helping people make informed business decisions by making accurate, current, and relevant information available to them when they need it.
  • This role specifically addresses the actions associated with managing and working with the business community for the definition, construction and delivery of custom and standard IA applications.

The ideal candidate for this position should possess a good understanding of IT development methodologies and demonstrate solid skills in business processes. This individual must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and demonstrate a team-oriented, goal-and results-driven work ethic. The role requires working collaboratively with the business community and other IT team members within a dynamic and high-profile environment.

Leadership skills:

  • Strong and proven leadership skills, leadership development and team building skills in a high-pressure IT environment
  • Experience of working in large complex multi-national projects with business & IT stakeholders and to be able to work to project plans, release cycles and delivery of solutions through agile methods.
  • Proven experience in quick learning, problem solving, dealing with ambiguity and organizational agility.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with end users, process team, peers and management how the IA team can assist in supporting their needs.
  • Drives innovation among the teams, recognizes innovation, and helps communicate new ideas across teams
  • Strong analytical skills along with strong interpersonal and people management skills.
  • Guides, trains / mentors’ junior staff in resolving complex issues in specialized area based on existing solutions and procedures
  • Travelling up to 10% in ECS & Internationally

Technical Skills:

  • Deep Knowledge of architecting IT applications, data modeling and business analysis techniques, business concepts/ processes
  • Create, maintain and enhance Intelligence Automation components (metadata, reports, metrics, dashboards) and manage overall IA environment, including configuration, releases, user administration and standards.
  • Participate in building custom applications, data modelling, business process analysis, development of reporting functional and technical specifications and most importantly business review of IA deployments.
  • Extensive experience of managing ERP solutions in various ERP subject areas (Sales, Inventory, Quoting, Order Management, Purchasing, Shipping, Costing, Pricing, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger). Either Microsoft Dynamics AX or Oracle ERP experience is preferred
  • Identify, understand, assess, prioritize, document and communicate requirements, risks, dependencies and potential roadblocks relating to enterprise data warehouse and Intelligence Automation development.
  • Reviews, identifies areas for improvement and makes recommendations to leadership.
  • Demonstrated proficiency authoring basic to complex queries in SQL & familiarity in underlying ERP applications database architecture.
  • Good understanding of Master Data Management (MDM).

Experience/Education

  • 1+ years of necessary experience in managing individuals and teams.
  • 8+ years of executing IT specific focus on the various Technology stack (Oracle PL/SQL, Uipath,  Power BI, Datawarehouse), Oracle or Microsoft ERP and knowledge of key business processes .
  • Must have experience supporting / managing any IT ERP track as part of a larger strategic program.
  • 4-year degree from an accredited college/university in Information Systems or related field or equivalent related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Leadership trainings/ certifications.
  • Previous experience in the electronics or distribution industries.
  • Previous experience working for a large public corporation
