POSITION SUMMARY: 

Invitae is on a mission to drive genetic information into mainstream medicine to improve healthcare for billions of people. To bolster our shared mission and help Invitae expand, we are looking for a new Logistics Lead to support our Oncology shipping division in our Boulder & Louisville CO facilities. In this position, you will be a part of our core logistics team that coordinates the movement of products supporting the manufacturing processes for Oncology kit distribution activities.  

We are seeking a people oriented, hands on, quick learner, with warehouse leadership qualities and the ability to adapt to various situations. The best candidate will be capable of building and leading a team, promoting strong customer service, problem solving/creating solutions, supporting process gap analysis and optimization, continually promoting safety and providing direction, while leading the Oncology Shipping functional area personnel and logistics activities. 


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for daily operations of production activities in a fast paced manufacturing & warehouse environment related to the shipping process for all International & Domestic fulfillment needs in both of our warehouses (located in Boulder and Louisville).
  • Uphold and promote a positive workplace and professional company culture.
  • Ensure proper work methods are being followed to maximize productivity and performance.
  • Monitor and meet all order accuracy requirements, maintaining a Customer 1st strategy that focuses on the quality associated with shipping of orders.
  • Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports.
  • Evaluate process improvement projects to ensure documented implementation and verification of effectiveness are documented for closure.
  • Monitor schedules and project plans for process improvement projects and follow up on assigned tasks to functional contributors.
  • Document and Monitor process control metrics from Operations and Quality Control for trending analysis and remediation as needed.
  • Writes, reviews, and updates process control plans and risk documentation as needed.
  • Review, understanding, and compliance with HIPAA Security policies and procedures.
  • Safeguard the privacy and security of protected health information and European Union personal data.
  • Process and handle of European Union personal data only as directed for purposes of personalized molecular pathology.


EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years experience in a cGMP, FDA regulated manufacturing setting for a logistics, manufacturing, kitting or program management role (experience with medical device manufacturing a plus)
  • Hands-on working knowledge working within an ERP & Inventory Management system (Oracle, SAP, etc)
  • Previous experience leading, directing and mentoring a team
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Previous experience with temperature sensitive materials  
  • Ability to operate pallet jack, two-wheeler and any other equipment required for position
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university majoring in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or Economics


DIFFERENTIATING QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Fluent in other regional languages 
  • Direct operational experience within the life sciences sector and/or sectors with return logistics requirements 
  • ERP “super user” experience, especially Oracle or SAP
  • Globally recognized professional certifications in Logistics, Transportation, and Distribution


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: 

  • This position does have direct supervisory responsibilities. 


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The job requires an individual to routinely use standard warehouse & office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, printers, warehouse MHE.

  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • The employee is regularly required to talk and hear
  • The employee is frequently required to sit, use hands to fingers, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms
  • The employee is regularly required to stand or walk
  • Occasional usage of hand trucks and pallet jacks is required
  • Regular lifting and bending are required


POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

  • This is a full-time position working standard business hours. This position may require the flexibility to work diverse schedules, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
