THE OPPORTUNITY

As the Lead Network Engineer at Xactly Corporation, you'll support the backbone that the Xactly SaaS platform, while leading network design, working on architecture planning, troubleshooting and problem resolution.. 



You must have a passion for supporting your fellow Operations, Engineering and Support teams. Whether it be in assisting our Production Operations teams in the upgrade of our high performance production systems or working side by side with our Customer Satisfaction teams to resolve customer facing issues your goal should always be to maintain our high level of customer satisfaction we strive for every day by following our C.A.R.E. values.

 

Being a driven, self motivated, self starter is a requirement. You must have a track record of working as part of a team and applying the right technology to the problem at hand. This must include thinking outside of the box with a panache for being able to address new, never before seen issues and still being just an energized and eager to solve the everyday common issues and troubleshooting you'd see on a network. You'll bring your battle proven experiences with you always! Always ready to support any issues while maintaining a stable, high performing network. 



THE TEAM

Xactly's Systems Engineering team is a group of people distributed over various regions in the U.S. and India. The team has a very diverse diverse background. All the team members of SysEng are seasoned veterans with various specialities and skills that bring to the job every day.



THE SKILL SET

  • At least one relevant professional certification such as the CCNP, CCIP, or CCIE
  •  7+ years of progressive experience in networking, network security, VPN's, enterprise routing, BGP, L3-7 switching
  •  7+ years direct experience required in the management and administration of network infrastructure routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, SSL acceleration in a high-availability 24x7x365 infrastructure
  •  Experience in global, production-scale infrastructure delivering multiple four nines level of availability
  •  Expert level knowledge of Cisco equipment which includes but is not limited to ASR's, Nexus 9k's, Fabric Interconnects, MDS Fabric Switches
  •  A high degree of comfort and experience in mixed vendor environments (e.g. Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper)
  •  Cisco UCS Experience
  •  Proven expertise and ability developing next generation infrastructure, including requirements specification, vendor evaluation and selection, data driven POCs, load testing, automated test suites, vendor interoperability, pilot deployments, and iterative design
  •  Deep understanding of security concepts and putting those concepts into practice in a network environment. Firewall, IDS, DDoS, etc. experience strongly preferred
  •  Professional level of experience with developing highly resilient multi-site, high availability and disaster recoverable network architectures
  •  Professional understanding of network communications used for routing, switching and environment management
  •  Expert understanding of BGP (confederations, communities,) as well as real world implementation and troubleshooting experience
  •  Some coding/scripting experience is a plus (e.g. Python, Perl, Ruby, Java Script, etc.)
  •  Linux experience
  •  Ability to plan and deploy completely new monitoring solutions
  •  Very strong focus on the customer's needs and a willingness to accommodate them
  •  Self-motivation and the ability to work with minimal supervision



WITHIN ONE MONTH, YOU'LL

  •  Get your bearings, understand the network layout and the processes we follow in Production Operations
  •  Start building relationships with internal teams and team members who you'll be working with and interacting with regularly
  •  Support network maintenance tasks and execute changes in production



WITHIN THREE MONTHS, YOU'LL

  • Complete knowledge of the end to end network
  • Start identifying areas/items to improve upon and building a project list



WITHIN SIX MONTHS, YOU'LL

  • You will be well versed on the Xactly network, its architecture and be engaged in new / improved architecture planning
  • You will be asked to mentor and help develop more junior network engineers technology skills



WITHIN TWELVE MONTHS, YOU'LL

  • Be capable of planning, ordering, implementing and configuration of any new networks brought on
  • Driving network maintenance tasks monthly as needed
  • Pursuing and implementing industry stands in the network
