As the IT Operations Manager you are responsible for making sure that computer hardware, software, and network infrastructure related to an organization's data network are effectively maintained to make sure the systems, services, and infrastructure work reliably and securely. You have an entrepreneurial mindset that focus on delighting the users through innovation. As the IT Operations Manager you are involved in the procurement of new hardware, the roll out of new software, maintaining disk images for new computer installs, making sure that licenses are paid for and up to date for software that need it, maintaining the standards for server installations and applications, monitoring the performance of the network, checking for security breaches, and poor data management practices. You will establish efficient and effective processes to support Toastmasters systems including designing, planning, implementation, maintenance. You will have to ensure quality deliverables on schedule and on budget while supporting users and systems.

DESCRIPTION

The IT Operations Manager will perform server and network administration assignments essential to the development and maintenance of Toastmasters International network management systems and monitoring tools. You will be responsible for network security, backup, disaster recovery and server maintenance, including network inventory, structure, long-range requirements, security, and integrity controls. You may propose and implement enhancements to improve performance, scalability and reliability for current IT best practices and continuous process improvement. You will manage and maintain multiple servers across multiple platforms and computer environments.

Assignments include network analysis, design, installation, configuration of servers, software installations, network optimization, performance monitoring, and general technical expertise. Follow IT governance to establish procedures in maintaining backup and disaster recovery, plan for future growth with enterprise products, create and maintain required documentation, such as work instructions, conduct recurring maintenance tasks & automation, monitor system availability requirements, apply a variety of upgrades and patches, and resolve system issues.

The IT Operations Manager will lead a team to develop and implement networks and servers, respond to user help desk requests, and monitor system stability and performance. Duties may include job-related functions other than those contained in this document and may be required to have specific job-related knowledge and skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, personal digital assistants, smartphones, software deployment, security updates and patches.
  • Establishes network specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements; designing router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols.
  • Establishes network by evaluating network performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, good put and latency; planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment; defining network policies and procedures; establishing connections and firewalls.
  • Maintains network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting network problems; escalating problems to vendor.
  • Secures network by developing network access, monitoring, control, evaluation, and maintaining documentation. Coordinate and facilitate security risk management and cybersecurity activities.  
  • Propose and implement enhancements to improve performance, scalability and reliability for current IT best practices and continuous process improvement
  • Manages in-house conference room AV solutions.
  • Supports in-house, remote, and work from home employees.
  • Prepares users by designing and conducting training programs, providing references and support.
  • Upgrades network by conferring with vendors; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements.
  • Works with facilities to ensure battery and generator backups are functional.
  • Manages all third-party vendor relationships (Meraki, Microsoft, Trend, Solarwinds, etc)
  • Manage Microsoft SQL servers, Microsoft Windows servers, Citrix Netscaler, Microsoft IIS, SharePoint, VMware, Altigen Phone Server, Linux Cent OS, Workspot VDI solution.
  • Desktop Operating Systems and Applications: Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Windows 10, Apple IOS, iMacs, Adobe.
  • Network Infrastructure and Management Utilities: Cisco Routers, Switches and Firewall, Access points, Remote Administrator/VNC, Cannon print solutions, Network Monitoring Tools, Cisco Cloudlock and Umbrella.
  • Ensures data is handled, transferred, and processed according to legal and company guidelines.
  • Manages contracts with vendors and software licenses.
  • Monitors and determine when systems or servers are due for upgrades.
  • Negotiates vendor contracts with IT service providers.
  • Recommend and implement upgrades for systems and servers.
  • Recommend and implement IT policies and procedures.
  • Participates in IT leadership activities.
  • Facilitates training for employees on Microsoft suite, phishing, and helpdesk functions.
  • Acts as liaison between departments and IT Operations for projects and proof of concepts needs.
  • Responds to needs of board and executive level committee members after hours if needed.
  • Meets financial requirements by submitting information for budgets, and monitoring expenses.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential, including HR requests.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fields.
  • 6+ years of network administration – Microsoft environment.
  • 4+ years of experience maintaining firewalls and network switches.
  • 4+ years of strong working knowledge of network monitoring tools.
  • 2+ years of experience with phone systems.
  • 2+ years of experience with SharePoint administration.
  • Experience with IT performance management, network administration, and system security.
  • Experience as IT Operations Manager and managing people.
  • Experience with system installation, configuration, and analysis.
  • Experience in Microsoft Azure services.
  • Experience in Hyper-converge systems is a plus (Nutanix).
  • Experience with Active Directory, Windows server 2008/2012/2016, VMware, Firewalls, Cisco routers/switches, Trend Micro Office Scan, SAN, VOIP, Office 365, D365 security.
  • Thorough knowledge of networks and cloud computing.
  • Knowledge of data protection operations and legislation (GDPR).
  • Leadership and organization skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem solving aptitude.

This position pays $115,000.00/year and is exempt.

This role will be working full-time in our office located at 9127 S. Jamaica St. Englewood, CO 80112. You will be working the majority of the time from home while the office is closed due to COVID-19, with occasional times you are needed to be in the office.
