about the industrial engineer & inventory manager role:

the industrial engineer & inventory manager will oversee all of soona’s inventory, storage, warehouse logistics and operations across all our locations. this role is responsible for the effectiveness, efficiency, optimization and scaling of the processes, systems and people involved in storage, warehousing (including WMS/Inventory Management system), intake/receiving, return and product availability for shoots. this role will have the ability to drive strategic direction, impact growth and delight our customers.

this is a full-time position located in our denver or minneapolis office. this role will report directly to the director of operations.

an ideal candidate can:

  • oversee all soona’s warehouse and storage locations and logistics including optimal layouts, systems, and procedures that increase productivity, improve the quality of the customer experience and optimize budget
  • constantly drive to improve and innovate product storage and warehouse/inventory management for capacity, efficiency and cost while maintaining or improving quality control
  • ensure the customer intake/receiving/returns process provides accurate tracking, handling, shoot availability, and product storage in a timely, accurate, cost-efficient manner
  • work both internally and externally to communicate, implement and improve customer product logistics expenses, inbound and outbound, as well as between soona studio sites
  • manage, train and grow a team of inventory coordinators across multiple locations to maximize productivity leveraging data analysis and experience to optimize tasks and responsibilities
  • develop, maintain, and manage standard operating procedures (SOP’s) related to inventory posting, movement, slotting, count procedures and other related inventory control processes
  • help define and own the implementation of the engineering and product team efforts related to product storage and warehousing
  • develop, track and regularly report on key metrics and core KPIs that inform operational decisions and reflect the health and efficiency of our supply chain processes
  • meet target KPIs
  • manage warehouse and storage costs, margin and budget
  • lead the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures including planning for new facilities, seasonal or other growth initiatives
  • note: some travel is required

has experience in:

  • Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience
  • 5+ years of experience in ecommerce warehousing, supply chain operations, and/or logistics, preferably across multiple locations
  • 2+ years managing a team and large-scale projects
  • execution of a physical inventory count
  • advanced knowledge of warehouse and distribution processes and best practices
  • knowledge of process improvement processes such as Six Sigma and or LEAN (5S)
  • experience with warehouse management systems and/or inventory management systems
  • experience in facility layout and analysis of space costs
  • ability to thrive in a fast-moving and constantly evolving high growth environment
  • excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • strong written and oral communication skills
