Does the potential opportunity to rethink operational risk management drive you? Are you a strong communicator with a make it happen attitude? Funding Circle is looking to add a Head of US Enterprise Risk to our growing team here in the United States and you will be based in Denver. You will be responsible for developing best in class operational risk management practices in the fastest growing SME lending FinTech Company.
As our Head of US Enterprise Risk, you will:
- Work with the US Business Unit Managing Director & US CRO to support them in the execution of their operational risk management responsibilities.
- Oversee the implementation of all elements of the Operational Risk framework e.g. Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA / risk register), Operational Risk Event Reporting, Key Risk Indicators, Scenario Analysis, etc.
- Take responsibility for owning elements of the Enterprise and Operational Risk management framework for the US business.
- Assist the development of common procedures and processes to drive consistent implementation of the Enterprise and Operational Risk management framework.
- Support and coordinate all operational risk framework related matters with the local regulators and external stakeholders.
- Help develop, coordinate and provide operational risk related training.
- Execute regional special projects as appropriate.
- Manage 1 direct report.
You have:
- Minimum 5-7 years work experience in a senior role within Operational Risk in the financial services sector (preferably in a lending business)
- Ability to gain the confidence of senior management
- Can deal with ambiguity and work in a fast paced and challenging environment
- Can challenge the status quo and have difficult conversations with 1st line teams as appropriate
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Attention to detail and can drive change
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Can effectively collaborate across multiple teams and geographies
- Can effectively manage and mentor junior staff
- Can execute complex projects with autonomy and work independently
- Knowledge of risk management, regulatory issues and previous experience of working in a lending environment
- Good working knowledge of Operational Risk tools, MS Office skills Word, Excel, PowerPoint
