Head of Fraud Risk Management
Ibotta’s Data Services team is expanding and we’re looking for a Head of Fraud Risk Management to lead Ibotta’s holistic digital trust and fraud prevention function. This role will lead day-to-day management of a cross-functional team responsible for establishing and executing Ibotta’s strategy to minimize fraudulent activity across Ibotta’s applications and properties. Additionally, this person will provide leadership, career development and mentoring to team members as well as contribute guidance and best practices across the Data Services, Analytics, and larger Ibotta Technology organization.
Here is what you’ll be doing:
- Assess Ibotta’s existing fraud risk management framework and develop, execute a strategy to enhance the framework utilizing a cross-functional, cutting-edge pattern and behavior-based approach
- Own and drive the evolution of Ibotta’s anti-fraud governance, strategy and framework
- Collaborate with colleagues across Ibotta, including senior leadership, to protect Ibotta’s interests and advise technology and business groups on fraud risk mitigation strategies
- Develop tools and methodologies to analyze, assess and monitor fraud risks, including the development of critical scoring frameworks, metrics, and KPIs
- Contribute to key regulatory initiatives and report on fraud risk exposures and metrics to enable an informed and strategic decision-making process
- Design, build, clearly communicate, and execute an enhanced fraud risk management strategies, frameworks, and policies throughout Ibotta
- Oversee, identify, report and support ongoing transparency of fraud risk mitigation activities across internal and external vectors to which Ibotta may be exposed
- Monitor on-going operations to identify existing fraud risks, assess emerging fraud risks, and test fraud mitigation techniques to ensure efficiency and efficacy of models and rules
- Own (build, support, maintain) the services and technology frameworks used by Ibotta to support fraud risk management function
Here is what we’re looking for:
- 10+ years building and managing a comprehensive fraud risk management function is required
- Familiarity with PCI requirements and compliance strongly preferred. Experience with QSA and other audit and regulatory functions also an advantage
- Significant fraud risk management experience in the digital payment space is strongly preferred. A professional background in financial services is also considered is a big plus.
- Extensive professional experience demonstrating successful partnerships across varied business and technology functions
- Proven track record of designing, launching, and successful adoption of company-wide initiatives and programs
- Strong fraud risk, process and control assessment skills are advantageous
- Analytics background and extensive experience with advanced analytical and statistical techniques strongly preferred
- Experience with behavior-based machine learning approaches to fraud risk management welcomed
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
