Better requires process, discipline, and simplification

We’ll look to you to develop and manage our global cyber-security Product and Application Security program at Western Union. You’ll partner with our business & development teams to continually assess and evaluate the security effectiveness of our development processes and products produced by the organization.

 

You’ll lead the program that is responsible for the areas of Product Security Incident Response, Remediation Communication, Guidance & Tracking, Bug Bounty Management, Organization Critical Security Advisories, SDL Control Assessment and Onboarding, Threat Modeling, Static & Dynamic Code Analysis, Open Source Software Component Management, SDL Automation for DevOps, SDL Training & Awareness, Independent Security Testing, Host, Web, Binary & Mobile Assessments as well as advising the sister Defense organization on WAF & DAM tuning, Security Architecture Review and Penetration Testing & Red Teaming.

 

Additionally, you’ll be directly responsible for providing line management, leadership, and strategic direction and vision for your program. Your role will be to implement all our application security solutions and provide oversight to all security operations’ capacities. You’ll also develop and manage operational policies, procedures, recommendations, and standards to ensure compliance with applicable security mandates.

 

For this role you will need you to have over 15+ years of equivalent work experience and a degree in computer science, security studies, cybersecurity, or a related field. You need to have strong experience with current development lifecycles, vulnerability disclosures, data breach incidents, and security analysis techniques. You will also be an experienced manager, having led a security engineering team previously. Previous experience of lean and agile working methodologies is also a requirement.

Annual base salary gross: $160,156-266,927. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the Western Union salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. The base salary is one component of Western Union’s total compensation package for employees.
